On July 22, 2025, in Lokoja, Kogi State, Adebayo Pelumi, a serving officer with the Nigeria Correctional Service, allegedly murdered photojournalist Ayo Aiyepeku.
Mr Pelumi reportedly lured Aiyepeku to his office near the Government House/GRA area and struck him with an iron object, rendering him unconscious, and dismembered the body, hiding parts in a freezer.
he attempted to flee in a Hilux van but was intercepted by security operatives and he escaped on foot.
A manhunt was launched immediately and on July 24,2025 Pelumi was found dead in a hotel room......
he allegedly took sniper and left behind a suicide note asking that his son should not be told..
The suicide note allegedly says ''my son should not be told of what I did because I suffered from impulse control disorder’'.

Someone said he killed her friend years ago and nothing was done, the wife ran away just after 2 years of marriage, be was married to the former deputy governor niece

Maybe something later transpired between the murderer and the sender(s) that's why he ended up dead as well. More investigations should be considered in this but those naija law enforcement?

They were still begging, waiting amd expecting, while the wife was contemplating, before this happened.
She's been away for few months now.
I wonder what the wife's family would be thinking right now. Yeye family, see what they wanted their daughter to go back to.
