Ajana Isabella a law student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka , and an occupant of Elmada hostel in Unizik has died due to circumstances that could have been avoided!
The report says that Ajana and her roommates reportedly lost their room key and needed a new one.
However, students alleged that when they approached their hostel mistress, identified as Madam Bright, for a spare key, she insisted that they pay for the spare as the hostel's policy demands.
The price for the spare key was allegedly pegged at N120,000 and the three roommates had to bring N40,000 each.
The students begged that they could not afford that amount right away and Ajana – said to be diabetic – desperately needed her insulin medications.
However, their pleas were ignored and Ajana's condition deteriorated until she collapsed and was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, July 6, and she di£d on Wednesday, July 9.

Spare key 120k?
ReplyDeleteSome people have to take responsibility for these stupidity so that others will learn.
If it was in a saner clime, the school, the hostel, everything will be under pock and key and the authorities sued.
They ought to have extra spare keys they moulded by themselves na.
DeleteThis generation has no sense.
RIP fine geh
Why should dey go moulding keys for hostel accommodation of max a session? Isn't that a crime.inal mindset? So when they move to another room the next year, what will they do with the moulded keys? The hostels are not free. The least the portals can do is have as many spare keys as possible. Offcource, you can make someone pay for replacement, but shouldn't be more than 5k.
DeleteI dont believe this story- there are lapses. 120T for spare key? Haba mana - impossicant
DeleteIf I have asthma I will mould 3 spare keys.
DeleteDeath never pursue you before🙄
4 chics on one room no get spare somewhere outside hostel.
How much is the whole room itself per annum that ordinary key would cost 120k?? Ordinary student hostel oh, people need to lose their jobs there.
DeleteSo sad
ReplyDeleteSuch an avoidable death 😩
DeleteI hope the so called Madam Bright is brought to book.
When is madam going to jail?
ReplyDeleteThat’s the real question
DeleteKeys for 120k? Even if it's to by new bullet proof door or any foreign security door. The heart of man is desperately wicked!
ReplyDeleteThe University should arrest and prosecute Mrs. Bright for intentional manslaughter!!!😤😡
ReplyDeleteSuch a careless death, may God grant the deceased eternal rest.
ReplyDeleteNobody practice witchcraft reach some admin staff of Nigerian institutions. I already have a mental picture of what madam Bright looks like from her attitude.
Shouout to the few good ones that go out of their way to offer solution.
You and me both Miss Aboki. Let me see... I picture her as someone always tying headtie, small earrings, long skirt wearing and probably attends either deeper life or mountain of fire. The kind of person who spends all the time talking about holiness but does not mix well with people. A terror in her small office, she barks out commands at her subordinates instead of communicating with calmness. Oh! Lets not forget the undersized glasses too that she wears to hide the cold, dark and impersonal eyes that are a window to a dead soul. The bible in her drawer too will be a very nice touch.
DeleteYep! Na dem.
Of course she go tie head tie with no earrings or she go dey wear what we call 'weavon' on her head
DeleteUna sabi. Either very religious or very razz(picture Rita Dominic's character in 'the meeting')
DeleteUna forget to add her Apron.
DeleteSpare key for 120k???
ReplyDeleteLet us hear from madam Bright first because this story isn't complete.
God bless you for this comment. We are always quick to pass judgement without hearing from the other side.
DeleteYes I agree plus did all three of them loose their keys at the same time or they only had one key all along ?
DeleteOmg😭😭
ReplyDeleteWickedness
The allegation should be properly investigated.
ReplyDeleteSo sad for a promising girl. May the Lord comfort her loved ones.
Madam bright should be held responsible
ReplyDeleteMadam bright should be held responsible
ReplyDeleteJust like that someone’s child is gone. The hostel mistress must face justice. This is really heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteSpare key for 120k, seriously. Hope Madam Bright (who is not so bright), is dealt with, and may Isabella's soul find rest.
ReplyDeleteThe humanity in some human being is dead. Human life should be saved first before money. May her soul rest in peace amen.
ReplyDeleteSome People are Just Naturally Wicked
ReplyDeleteThat Evil Woman Must Face The Law..

Hello iya Boys
A country that claims to love God yet deny or have any form of godliness in them..If you check the Madam Bright, it will be those religious spirikoko fanatic that are bereft of human emotions....Rest in peace, beautiful...We don't value human lives here at all...
ReplyDeleteMust be some golden key to open the gates of heaven for a whole 120k, beech must have been running a scam on those kids, hustling for her pockets.
ReplyDeleteEven if she did not want to give them a spare key she could have opened the door for them to get the medication. When did we stop denying folks access to their medication🙆🏾♀️ Madame bright is one dull hoe who needs her ass kicked straight into tomorrow.
When are they giving madam room in kirikiri?
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad 😭

CEO Empress
This is such a sad and careless death.
ReplyDeleteMost of these non teaching staff ehn, those people are something else. They act as if they are demi god or something. They even do pass the teaching staff, except for one I knew in my university days Mum Amira, God bless that woman. Others nearly made me missed going for NYSC. So much for people with little power
ReplyDeleteIsabella, may God grant you eternal rest and comfort your loved ones.
A very careless death, having human feelings is hard now. Becos of wickedness another life has gone. Na wah ohhh.
ReplyDeleteWe need picture of madam bright and her full name fr
ReplyDeleteWickedness, they should use this one as a scapegoat.
ReplyDeleteWhat if truly the spare key costs that amount and the said woman was just adhering to hostel rules. Three people should not be in a room and share one key naa, o wrong. Even if they didnt have a place to cut spares in school, they should have done that outside. We did that in school. May her soul RIP.
ReplyDeleteSo sad.
ReplyDeleteMay her soul rest in peace
we are all focusing on the key when the truth is they could have sent her to the hospital immediately instead of waiting for the key. I blame her friends for her death.
ReplyDeleteAbi the drug no dey market again?
