In Nigeria’s long history of elite impunity, a new and explosive case has emerged—one that reveals the terrifying extent to which power can be used to silence, shame, and destroy a woman who dares to speak the truth.
At the centre of this case is Hadiza Musa Baffa, and the man she accuses is Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, former Minister of Special Duties under President Goodluck Jonathan, and one-time presidential aspirant.
Hadiza is not just alleging abuse—she is also fighting for her life.
In her words and which is now being used in evidence, she says she was violated, manipulated, and allegedly trafficked into s#xual servitude by Turaki, a man she claims was entrusted by her mother—his lover—to help her access education and a future.
Instead, Hadiza says she became his “plaything,” exploited from her youth and ultimately forced to carry eight pregnancies, which she chillingly alleges were harvested for ritual purposes.
Her story might have been dismissed as emotional rant—except for one unshakeable fact: a DNA test has confirmed Kabiru Tanimu Turaki is the father of her child. The results returned a 99.99995% probability of paternity—undeniable, scientific proof that directly contradicts his earlier public denials of ever knowing her.
And that’s when things took a terrifying turn.
Rather than acknowledge paternity or face legal responsibility, Turaki allegedly activated the one tool that men of his stature often turn to when cornered: the police. Not just any police, but officers of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID)—deployed, reportedly under his instruction, to track, harass, and forcefully arrest Hadiza in a manner that violated every legal and moral standard.
On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, while Hadiza returned briefly home to pick up clothing for her child, she was ambushed. Officers reportedly broke down her door, detained her alongside her daughter, and treated her as a hardened criminal. There was no public warrant, no due process—only the raw force of a system seemingly protecting the powerful.
And all of this happened despite the fact that Turaki himself repeatedly ignored police invitations, evaded arrest, and even allegedly faked a trip to the United States to buy time—while plotting a brutal ambush against the mother of his child.
Hadiza is now in fear for her life. In her public statements, she warns that if anything happens to her or her daughter, the Nigerian public should hold Kabiru Tanimu Turaki responsible.
But more than a personal tragedy, this case now stands as a national test of conscience.
Like she has cried out, if anything happens to her or she goes missing the former Minister should be held responsible

The Nigerian system is programmed for injustice, dehumanization and intimidation...Where the police is used as an attack dogs for personal vendatta or self-aggrandizement....Imagine the abuse of institutions just to intimidate...Nigeria is not a real place but a crime scene....

ReplyDeleteThank goodness someone wrote about this. I remember her story. One thing with the silently wicked, they will go to any lengths to cover up their evil. When anyone come out with a bizarre story I’m more prone to believe it, because even the human imagination doesn’t work like that. This man and his activities over the years need to be thoroughly investigated. Allegedly taking eight babies from a mother would make him a serial killer. That would be on top of the pedophilia. These allegations need to be taken seriously and fully investigated. Why should such a person so low and vile be governing anyone. This is a stomach churning story and the level of abuse against a minor is heart wrenching. She likely exposed him to protect the daughter from being sexually abused or sacrificed.
ReplyDeleteThe devil loves lineage. The man got the mother, daughter, and she gave birth to another daughter, it would only be a matter of time before he swooped in on the child too. Hadiza is trying to save her daughter and cut the generational bonds to this evil.
People have really suffered on this planet. Whew LordππΎ♀️
Jesus πππ.
ReplyDeleteWomen and their uncanny ability to self-victimize, moreso once the outcome stops to favour them. The dangers of a single story indeed.
ReplyDeleteYou saw all too?
DeleteCrazy things are happening
ReplyDeleteThe mother’s role cannot be erased from this story. Her decision created the circumstances under which Hadiza says she was manipulated, violated, and made to carry multiple pregnancies under conditions she claims were more like a ritualistic circumstances. And as bad as this situation is, what role is Hadiza's mum playing in getting justice for her daughter?? It is a reminder that abuse often thrives not only because of the predator’s actions, but because of enablers — even when those enablers are bound by blood.
ReplyDeleteWell said.
DeleteWicked mother who used her daughter to keep a man and attached benefits.
Questions
ReplyDeleteIs the case not in court
Was it not the court that ordered a DNA paternity test
If the man obeyed a court ordered testing, why don't she go back to court if she is being harrased
Why is she not reporting the Police to the court
8 pregnancy. Where was her mother from the first one
Can she say she was not an active participant and beneficiary of the arrangement allegedly made by her mother.
What was the REAL agreement when her mother gave her over to the man (Please spare the school talk)
What does she want of the man
What does the man want of her
What property of the man is she holding to apart from the child or in addition to the child.
Does she want the man to be father to the child beyond material provision
Does she want to take her child for herself at the man's expense
Has she sought an order of court openly on maintenance of the child.
What is the man's story?
Every time she tells her story and her silent mother's story
What is the claims/demands the man has made or makes of her today. Only fetuses
#Yimu
What a world we live in. Nigeria my country is especially Nigeria police please let us do better
ReplyDeleteI see why Joseph ran out of that room, preferring prison. I wish Hadiza's mother had not been carried away with her own limited wisdom and avoided this generational tribulation that started out as an illicit affair.
