Motherhood Chronicle

In this post, we discuss anything and everything that has to do with Motherhood....
Let me ask you this...How many times do you think a new born baby should be bathed in a day?

I only bath my first fruit once a day cos he was so tiny and i was so scared....One day he almost slipped off my hand and that fear made me bath him only in the morning after begging God to help me......
He almost slipped because i was told to put olive oil and milk in his bath but on that day i think the oil was too much..
What is/was your baby bathing routine like? What age did you allow your child bath themselves?

  1. Awwww....Stella momma, you tried o ๐Ÿค— I was always scared to bath babies ๐Ÿ˜Š
We were told twice a day at ante natal class & my mum too was bathing my baby twice a day.
But when we went for immunization, we were advised that once a day is ok because of the cold weather ⛈ Just told to always clean the navel umblical cord area.
I was happy with it especially when my mum went home for awhile. I manage to do the bathing myself.

My kids can have bath themselves now ๐Ÿ˜ But once in awhile, I step into the bathroom and wash them all round ๐Ÿ›€

I started bathing my first boy when he was 8days old(night of naming ceremony)..my mum couldn't come cos she is aged and has eye problem..my inlaw dat helps said she can't be coming every day (morning and evening) cos she is always busy...so she taught me how to bath him and I learned so fast..

Same with my second boy..I bath them twice (morning and night)..

My first boy is 7yrs old..I still bath him but allow him bath himself whenever I am a bit tired..d second is 3yrs,I bath him but can allow him shower himself without soap..

    Motherhood is not easy rara

  3. For my first, I did not touch him to bath till he was 8weeks. My mum and grandma were around and bathed him 2ce a day till he caught cold and I was told at the clinic that once a day.

For my second and 3rd, I bathed them at 1 month, 3 wks respectively.

I was bathing them twice a day .

My first labour.. I was past the EDD . The hospital called my husband to bring me for inducement. After everything, labour didn't start.
Na hot drip later assist me.

My second, false labour. I stayed over 24hrs at the hospital until they used drip on me.

My daughter, saw my mucus plug and went straight to the hospital. Waited for hours and experienced labour on my thigh. Baby girl later came on Tues day

My last, shuooo . No labour and I was induced again. .spent more than 24hrs until I was given drip again. I ended up pushing 5kg handsome boy.๐Ÿฅฐ
The hospital didn't expect it because my last scan revealed 4.5 which I have birthed my second at 4kg .

My baby became wonder of the ward. ๐Ÿ˜†.. someone couldn't believe I pushed him out until she confirmed when I opened my Tommy for her.

My last is 14 and so focused.

Will I do it over again.

  6. My baby was bathed twice a day by mum, And i still bath him like that, unless the weather is too cold, then I avoid bathing him at night.
Bath times is always a struggle with my baby , cause he doesn't like anyone touching his face or hair at all. So I do force him, I have no choice na.

  7. I bathe my kids, even as newborn, only once a day. The only times I bathe them more than once is when they do activities that get them dirty outside, like swimming and playing in the sand.

  9. I just remembered when I took my friend's new born to another part of the hospital for immunization while the mum was in the recovery room few hours after giving birth. The nurses asked me to take off the baby's clothes and I struggled with shaky hands for over 10mins till another mum came to my rescue. Babies are so fragile and delicate.

  14. I had my baby in the US. My friend's mother in law bathe her for me the naija way with black soap I brought from Naija, palm oil and olive oil. After one week i was on my own. I bathe the baby with soap and water every 3 days? The remaining days, i put towel in warm water to clean her as we never leave the house and no visitors come. Till she was about 3 months before i bathe her everyday. She is 11 years old today.
