For me, I think the advantage outweigh the disadvantages by far. It helps you keep in touch better
ReplyDeletePhones have made us loudly connected and quietly disconnected. A family can sit in the same room, yet everyone is living inside a small glowing window. Conversations now fight for space with notifications. Lovers speak less to each other and more to their screens. Even silence used to be warm; now it has a cold blue light humming through it.
ReplyDeleteBut at the same time, these gadgets have also become the only bridge for many. Parents abroad see their children’s faces on video calls. Couples survive long distance on late-night voice notes. Siblings who rarely meet still send each other memes that say, “I remembered you.”
So the impact isn’t one-sided. Phones have given us closeness we once thought impossible, and they have also stolen the softness of eye contact and the honesty of uninterrupted presence. Everything now depends on discipline. If you can’t place boundaries around your screen, it will quietly take the parts of your relationship that require attention, patience, and true presence.
In short, these gadgets didn’t change us - they revealed us. They showed who knows how to love with intention, and who hides behind a device to avoid the work that relationships demand.
Good and bad, the devil sits quietly in the details.
