There is a difference between a man who gets power by alighing with the higher powers and another who gets power by alighing with his people's needs. The former is a slave while the later is the boss
ReplyDeleteHe and his political machinery have been begging and pleading for 2 years to enter into APC, even announcing a date of defection and sewing APC embroidered regalia. Plural visits to the presidency with relatives did nothing to pacify the state APC even if the president was open to accepting him, publishing some of his visits.
ReplyDeleteOn realizing the landlords had collected nearly all federal parliamentarians and the controversy over the LGAs was ongoing, he went pleading again and kept openly denying joining ADC, the new meeting ground for political friends who shifted Ede voting till midnight resulting in a 28k gap.
Baba knows that joining ADC in Osun of today is a byebye case so he joined accord, the stop gap for certain interests in that part of the South. If Baba nIbadan helped to get this truce, I won't be surprised.
The man has incumbency and pity going for him and he has had increased allocation to perform but whoever wins that coming election will be singing "on your mandate" and if APC can manage the fallout of their primaries especially the Ife caucus, it will be tough in August.
