The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Abdulsalam Gwarzo, has reportedly resigned, according to a statement released by the Kwankwasiyya Movement, though the state government has not confirmed the development.
In the statement signed by spokesperson Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, the group said the decision followed careful consideration and was taken to preserve stability in Kano’s governance, and noted that current circumstances had made it difficult for Gwarzo to fully discharge his duties.
The movement stressed that the resignation should not be seen as an admission of wrongdoing despite the allegations raised against him by the Kano State House of Assembly, and insisted that he maintains his innocence and stands by his record in public service.
It added that Gwarzo plans to focus on strengthening the Kwankwasiyya Movement ahead of the 2027 elections.

Politics gradually destroying the peace among people.
ReplyDeleteDifferent factions in Kano State under different godfathers 🙃
ReplyDeleteSaw video of different factions of groups praying during recent sallah. Emir of Kano had one section, Kwankwaso had another while the Governor has his own section of prayers. Why do you allow politics to divide your people? 🥺
