Do you tell lies to your kids? Does your child lie to you?Do you have a talk with them to discuss that lying is bad or you navigate with them when and how to lie?
I sometimes tell lies to my children, especially when I want to whine them or put fear in them not to do a particular thing but my first always knows when I'm "lying" lol. Like, I told them that there's a lying app in my phone just to prevent them from lying because the fear of came can make them lie about something they did.
Recently, I was talking to my son about something in the presence of my mum. When he went to the bedroom, my mum looked at me & said that she couldn't talk about somethings to us while we were growing up 😊 I smiled and told her this generation was different o, you have to be updated like them. Gen Zs are not like our generation...they seem smarter so I tell my kids not to lie to me or to others.

ReplyDeleteSomeone once said it's not everything you learnt from your parents you teach your children.
ReplyDeleteSome of us had parents who lied to them....blatant obvious lies that turned the kids to something else. And I don't think it's a good thing.
There was a boy in a school close to my tailor's shop. He stole someone's ruler & lied that it was his. The real owner reported to their teacher and they checked the ruler to see that the owner's name was inscribed in tiny letters on it. I can't imagine how a parent will feel after telling them their child stole a ruler & lied on top of the stealing 😩 So I don't encourage lies in any form with my kids.
