Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment, ruling that the EFCC had proven that Nwabuoku diverted public funds while serving as Director of Finance at the Ministry of Defence between 2019 and 2021.
The court described the offence as “appalling,” noting that the funds, purportedly for security operations were funneled through private companies and withdrawn in cash.
Although the cumulative sentence totals 72 years, it will run concurrently, meaning he will serve eight years.
During the investigation, Nwabuoku refunded over N200 million, a detail the defence did not dispute.

Hello iya Boys
Is there any honest Nigerian high official in public service or a politician who has served spotlessly?
ReplyDeleteJust negodu and some of his colleagues are walking freely..
ReplyDeleteThe person he replaced was suspended on allegations of over N80 billion fraud, yet nothing has been heard till date about that case. Amazing how the judiciary automatically becomes efficient when the case doesn't involve a certain demographic or political affiliations. Nigeria is so messed up, it's sickening.
