Pinky's CORNER

This post is about a Testimony of Perseverance"
There is this lady I got to know when I relocated to Ibadan. We bonded like family. She is married with no kids yet......She is 45 this year.

Early last year, she and her husband decided to try IVF. They began to look for funds and resulted to selling off their land.
The first IVF they did cost 3.9m but wasn't a success . They didn't give up, they sold off the second land(which was the only one left) and went for a second one and it failed. The second one affected them and the union almost crumbled but with God, they were able to manage the situation.

They reach out to some friends and also sold some of the things they have(like their freezer, tv etc) to go for the third one and God answered them.

I didn't talk about this since last year because I was waiting for a testimony. Yesterday, she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. Have not been able to go visit her in the hospital but I spoke with her husband on phone.

Dear Heavenly Father, I lift up all couples(myself and wifey inclusive) waiting for the gift of children. May our timing be perfect, and our plans unfold in our appointed season. Grant us patience, strength, and faith to trust in your goodness. May we find comfort in your presence and joy in the journey. Amen
Lastly, do not allow family and friends destroy your happiness at this waiting period.
Ire oooooo

AMEN!

  3. Amen
Let them also try ivf if applicable
    It has helped so many

    But resulted should be resorted
They began to look for funds and resulted to selling off their land.

"Resorted" is the past tense of "resort," primarily meaning to turn to, adopt, or have recourse to a strategy, action, or person for help, often as a final option or when alternatives fail.“

  14. Hello Pinky,
I don’t know your full story, but I do feel for every 'ttcing' family. Those of us who had the ease of conception and delivery often take that grace for granted. As we are no better than those trying for it - that's one of the many mysteries of life.

Your post reads as more than a testimony. It feels like a quiet comparison. Perhaps it’s just the wording, but it leans heavily on timing, faith, and outcomes, while skirting the harder question of responsibility. Faith can, at times, soften the weight of fear or exhaustion instead of pushing us toward clear, consistent action.

While reading I asked myself whether the said couple's journey reflected perseverance. Yes, I think. Though not in a simple, admirable sense.

They endured loss, strain, and real sacrifice. Yet their decisions steadily reduced their safety, placing growing pressure on their lives and marriage.

What you see is a mix of determination, faith, and risk. The result doesn’t validate every step - it only shows they endured.

True perseverance requires both resolve and restraint. Without that balance, persistence can quietly damage what it seeks to preserve.

I pray that you and your wife are met with strength, and peace in this season of wait - that your decisions are guided with wisdom, your hearts steadied, and your home filled with the kind of joy that doesn’t come at the cost of your wellbeing.

When they come, the Lord will equip you with all you need to raise them to be outstanding citizens. You will look back on these waiting years with nothing but gratitude. He who has started the good work in your home/marriage, will be faithful to complete it. AMEN!
