The Pope is on a historic 10‑day visit to Africa, and the tour will cover Algeria, Cameroon, Angola and Equatorial Guinea, with his first stop being Algeria where he arrived on Monday April 13, 2026.
The trip focuses on peacebuilding, interfaith dialogue and humanitarian issues, and he is expected to hold Masses, meet political and religious leaders, visit refugee communities and address challenges like conflict, poverty, migration and youth unemployment.
The Vatican describes the journey as a mission of hope and healing across the region.
