Nollywood actor Roy De Nani has opened up about losing his son, his daughter, and his brother , all without a single colleague reaching out to support him.
Speaking on ''Where Is The Lie podcast'' the actor revealed that his two children, who lived with sickle cell disorder, needed blood transfusions he could not afford at the time.
Tragically, both of them passed away.
He added that when his brother died, not one actor or actress showed up to stand with him.
In his words:
“I have a brother from the same father. When he died, not a single actor or actress showed up.
I lost my son, I lost my daughter because they needed blood transfusion so they could continue living, but there was no money to buy the blood, and they died.
Nollywood never came to assist me. Not that they don’t care, but they have not been touched, let it be said that way.”

ReplyDeleteOh! Dear sorry for the loss oo
ReplyDeleteIt's not fair oo π
So sorry for your loss sir.
ReplyDeleteI'm not trying to hold brief for them, But I think, except there's a a rule to give stipulated amount to a member, and a rule to task every member a certain amount to pay monthly for such financial supports, I guess everything will be voluntarily by individual members.
And most times, it's by your personal relationship with them.
Let go of the hu..rt and focus on channeling your energy and talents to financial independence.
Exactly.

ReplyDeleteNot one though, not even 1 Nollywood person in any capacity?ππΎ♀️ I feel his pain, such terrible losses. This is why no matter what is going on in this world make sure to develop a strong relationship with God and put God first in this life, cause humans cannot be depended on.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible loss. It's not easy at all.
ReplyDeleteMay God comfort him. There are a myriad of factors around this issue he raised.

ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss. But no one owe you their finances as those were your family members. Everyone is really going through their own struggles
ReplyDeleteSorry if I sound selfish or inhumane.
ReplyDeleteBut.
I have been hearing and reading of this from actors and ex actors.
They are being paid for their services, right?
So, why do they still expect and complain that the industry does not come through for them when they are in need or down?
Is there some kind of agreement or dues assigned and agreed upon that at certain times there are entitlements owned them which the industry breached?
One was complaining of not owning a house, some others complaining of colleagues or industry not coming through for them in on situation or the other.
Because, to me, so far your services are being paid for fully, I see no reason why you should be expecting or feeling abandoned at the end of the day.
Not like it is government's pension.
Chai.. my sympathy Sir
