An Atlanta teenager was removed from the US after what started as a simple traffic stop turned into an immigration case.
The 17‑year‑old was pulled over for a minor violation, and once he was taken to the county jail, officers discovered he had an old deportation order linked to his family’s unresolved immigration case from years back.

Despite having no criminal record and growing up almost entirely in the U.S., immigration officials refused to pause the process, and he was flown back to Honduras before a judge could review his lawyer’s request to reopen the case.
His family says they left Honduras because of threats and violence, and now fear for his safety.
