OPEN AND CLOSE CASE
Whoever it was that helped me respond to this anonymous eh, na Baba God go hammer you with plenty Blessings in Jesus name.
The best decision I ever made in my life was the day I ended my marriage.
I know this may come as a shock to many people, but yes — I freed myself from a toxic marriage, and till today, I am grateful I did.
While everyone is talking about Ilebaye’s situation, let me say this for free — hitting an adult for any reason is never normal. It is traumatic, damaging, and something no human being deserves to experience.
For 17 years, I endured violence in my marriage. Seventeen years of pain, fear, emotional torture, and silent tears. Till today, I still cannot explain how I survived it all.
Sometimes I look back and wonder: if I had stayed because of “what people would say,” would my life have ended like many others whose stories became headlines after dèath?
I chose to leave so I could live.
Out of respect for him as the father of my children, I will not share every detail of what I went through. But I will say this, one of the biggest reasons many women remain in abusive marriages is because of our culture and society.
We are taught to keep enduring.
To keep praying.
To keep managing.
To keep hoping things will get better.
So you smile outside while dying inside.
People judge you for leaving, but they rarely ask what you survived before making that decision.
Sadly, it took the déath of people like Osinachi to liberate many women mentally. Her story forced many of us to realize that silence can be deadly.
One thing people don’t understand is that abuse does not only destroy you physically. It damages you mentally and emotionally. There was a point I almost lost my sanity completely. The trauma, fear, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion cannot even be properly explained with words.
And the children? They suffer too.
Growing up in a toxic environment leaves scars on them, even when they pretend to be okay.
I had to withdraw from many people because of their insensitivity. Some people will blame you for leaving but will never survive one week in your situation. Society has kept many women trapped in violence simply because of fear of judgment.
Let me say this clearly:
Leaving a toxic environment does not make you weak.
Sometimes, leaving is the bravest thing you can ever do for yourself.
I am not speaking up because I owe anyone explanations. I am speaking because I know there are women silently suffering right now, women who cry themselves to sleep every night, women who have lost themselves completely in abusive marriages.
To every woman going through this: you deserve better.
Love should not come with violence.
Marriage should not feel like a prison sentence.
And to the men reading this:
If you cannot control your anger…
If you cannot communicate without raising your hands on a woman…
Then you are not ready for marriage.
No matter how much a woman loves you, consistent abuse will eventually turn that love into fear, resentment, and emotional disconnection.
Avoid going close to someone’s daughter if you are not emotionally mature enough to handle disagreements without violence.
Honestly, the kind of men I see these days makes me fear for this generation and the next.
And to the good men. the ones who lead with love, patience, kindness, and respect, may God bless you. The world desperately needs more men like you.
If my story can help even one woman choose herself, choose peace, choose life, then speaking up was worth it.
At the end of the day, no woman deserves to live in fear inside the place she calls home.
A broken marriage is painful, yes… but a broken woman is even worse.
I did not leave because I was weak.
I left because I wanted to live.
I left because my children deserved a healthy mother.
I left because peace of mind is priceless.
If you are silently suffering, I pray you find the strength, courage, and support to choose yourself before it is too late.
And if you have never experienced domestic violence, please be kinder with your words. Some people are fighting battles they can barely survive.
May healing find every wounded soul.
May peace find every troubled home.
And may no woman ever have to lose herself just to keep a marriage.
Feel free to share. Someone out there may need this message more than you know.

Your Tone Speaks Before Your Words Do!
People often remember how you made them feel more than the exact words you said. Your tone, expression, and emotional control communicate far more than you may realize.
In difficult moments, calm and thoughtful communication can preserve relationships, restore confidence, and redirect conflict toward resolution. A leader who speaks with composure creates stability for everyone around them.
But when anger, fear, or frustration dominate your tone, those emotions overshadow your message. Others respond first to what they sense emotionally before they process your actual words.
Leadership requires emotional discipline.
If you love someone because they love you, its empathy.
If you love someone for their looks, its obsession.
If you love someone for what they have, its interest.
If you love someone for their kindness, its admiration.
But If you confuse why you love someone, its definitely love.
Real love is strange. It doesn’t always make sense. It goes beyond logic, benefits, beauty, or convenience.
Sometimes the deepest love is the one you can never fully explain… you just feel it.

A MEMO TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE PARENTS AND GUARDIANS
One day, your parents will need you the same way you once needed them.
That realization hits differently as you grow older.
The people who stayed awake when you were sick, sacrificed their own comfort, and worked through their own struggles to give you a chance at life won’t be strong forever.
Time changes everyone.
One day, they may move slower.
Forget little things.
Need your patience.
Need your presence more than your money.
And many people don’t realize this until it’s too late. They get so busy chasing life that they forget to spend time with the people who gave them one.
Call them. Visit them. Appreciate them while you still can.
When last did you genuinely spend time with your parents or guardians?

Lovely afternoon amazing people. How Una dey
ReplyDeleteI recently got a tote bag that has a small teddy bear dangling in front. The bear is so beautiful and I wanted to remove it and use as a keyholder but I saw that it beautified the bag, so i left it.
ReplyDeleteToday at the bus stop, a baby started crying to have the teddy oo. She sighted the bear and immediately pointed and would not stop crying even as her mother pacified her. Everyone was looking at me to see if I will remove the teddy and give to her but I no do am ooo. (I just hope I did not disappoint them) I dont understand why kids will choose to put elders in very difficult situations like what I faced this morning. I was still thinking in my mind if I should do a transfer to the woman to get the girl a toy and then my staff bus came.
...and then I hopped in. (Escaped) Lol.
Welcome IHNs
I would have given it to the baby out of shame 😆, not from my heart o. I also don't like how some babies and toddlers innocently put one in difficult situations.
DeleteActually, you were under no obligation to give the baby the teddy. If you felt like giving it out, that would have been kind. And if you decided not to, which you did, that’s perfectly fine too. The teddy belongs to you, and you like it on your bag. Children can innocently put adults in difficult situations sometimes, especially in public places where everyone starts watching and expecting a certain reaction 😄
DeleteI would have been dangling it in the baby's face to make them cry more 🤣🤣🤣
DeleteYou did the right thing. The child will grow to learn that just because they want something and cry doesn’t mean they will get it.
DeleteHahaha 🤣🤣🤣 Miss Aboki
DeleteAbii baby don't feel bad abeg. You might even want to give and the mother will turn it down thinking you want to bewitch her baby ( you know Nigerians na)
ABIONAH, you did well. The mother may reject it, thinking that you want to bewitch her child.
DeleteI'm talking out of experience.
When I found out that my neighbour always throw away the cash gift and clothes I always give his kids every Christmas and Easter, I stopped giving any child gift unless the child is family.
If I'm holding something, even if the child like let him/she cry blood, I won't give it out.
Hello everyone...
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon everyone
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely correct 👍 @ 2nd weird fact..
ReplyDeleteI once said people should visit funeral homes more than other parties.
ReplyDeleteI still stand on that.
It gives you opportunity to reflect on your life and prioritise.
Especially planning for the life hereafter.
Alexx"s d.eath has really been an emotional one for me. Not sure I have been touched by any actor's de.mise like this. Spent almost all day, going through all testament of him from various people. (These I have been doing for days now). His charming smiles, plastered everywhere.
Everyone mentioned his kind nature and how he was a good person.
So glad his last moments were spent in solitude, with closest loved ones, and probably working out his salvation
Death might not give a long announcement via sickness, as in his case. If it happens suddenly, What would you be remembered for and WHERE WILL YOU SPEND ETERNITY?
YOU should be visiting funeral homes more than parties, that's good for you, leave others alone. It is not by force.
DeleteIt's only when you die that you will hear good things about you.
DeleteYou said what!?
DeleteFuneral home that's a mortuary. God forbid.
My little experience with that place can never repeat it self for the next 50 year.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI’m not going to be hanging out in funeral homes for no reason but do what makes you happy.
DeleteHF, pls visit your funeral homes alone 🙄
Delete😂😂😂 I meant funeral service ooo.like service of songs they organise for the d.ead before the burial . It's usually a solemn time and moment of reflection.
DeleteI have never visited a mogue and by God's grace I won't have to ooo.
The main point is being conscious of our living and strivimg to leave positive legacies behind, which none of you reiterated 😂😂
Love and light my people.
Long life and prosperity all the way
Am I the only one who saves funny lines or posts here?
ReplyDeleteE get how I dey use am flog people for this side ehn...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I saved this one:
"Face like mashed beans...."
"Mouth like kerosene funnel..."

"Dem call Edet, na Akpan appear."
"You never tire for all these FABUlous stories?"
".. mouth wide like shower curtain..."
It was here I saw mkpi, ezi bida, afofogbemu, elemu shalanga, elenu gboro gboro, elenu lamba etc etc
Then one comment during the hot slap Bianca gave that woman (can't remember her name) I saved that comment since that year, any time I want to laugh, ikwa kwa kwa, I pull it out🤣🤣🤣
Smoh breeze wey uncle abionko say make e for take as e open window, na so dem knack am turn garri for head, madam bedsheets collect, mr excess something collect, anon collect, online bush rat collect, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the latest one I saved..."Na xxx own dey make me laff like hyena, looking like wetin oyibo fisherman dey attach to their fishing line to catch fish."🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Una mouth no good I swear. Loveee eeeet.
There's one I saved in 2014 or 2015 on my phone. One verrrry long one so funny. I think it was a boxing ring post. It ended with emjay stealing chikitos wig and dashing off to Sakpbonba road or New Benin Market. Unfortunately, that phone is long gone. I've searched for that post enduessly. If anyone can get it for me, I would be greatful.
If you have any funny lines, please share them here. I use to use it and flog people well well. Na only violence some people understand, so na to give them to woto woto.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Keep fooling yourself. I love to see you acting cray cray in anon mode most times. Aren't you tired of sounding like a broken record? You no even get liver to post am with your ID. Lily-livered deplorable!!
DeleteThat's how negative minds function. Nothing good to learn here abi, just bad things to the extent that you keep the records

DeleteYou are my brother/sister in spirit
Are you me? Am I you?
Same story here!
I used to screenshot funny comments and post them on my WhatsApp status
I would also screenshot chronicles and Stella’s red pen and post them
I would even screenshot funny/shocking articles and Stella’s funny footnotes and post
I saved a lot of posts - Chronicles, Omogwu Diaries, Domestic Violence Stories, SYB, LRD, WNB, etc, etc, etc on my android phones but just like you, those phones are now history
This iPhone I am now using does not save posts the way I like so I send them to my WhatsApp which makes retrieval a tedious process
The storage is also full so to take screenshots and post is impossible
My WhatsApp status used to be so exciting with all my contacts rushing to view my posts
Now it is on hiatus. My social media life has gone into hibernation
😴
A small correction…
That second comment was actually…
“…nose like kerosene funnel”
It was in reference to D!rcas SH!la Faps!n ms-dsf
That was either when T!mini Egbus!n’s smallie ex called him out or when that p!bic area waxing video she was sending to her then-boyfriend Sk!bii leaked
T!mini also received his own here when the smallie called him out
One BV wrote that…
“See his face like frying pan”
☺️
I wish there was a way we could connect cos we are clearly birds of the same feather
I thought I was weird not knowing there were other people like me
How do I reach you nau?
🥺

When Ms. Azuka interviewed Kemen over the alleged T-Boss f!ngering brouhaha, BV Kidjo wrote…
“Azuka be shaking her legs like a gwongwonzo fowl. Putting on mgbeke gown as if she is going to church. Mtcheew.”
☺️
A lot to learn here today.

"And to the men reading this:
ReplyDeleteIf you cannot control your anger…
If you cannot communicate without raising your hands on a woman…
Then you are not ready for marriage."
DV is not it at all. Fully agreed.
Two questions:
How should a man do where he talks with his wife with all every verifiable evidence to stop an act, she gets up to go do it after the talk, or the next day, or very soon after as if she never heard all explained, as if is a preschooler?
How should a man do after full explanation the way to go in a prevailing situation. Yet the acts more than Lot's wife by going in the opposite direction?
The truth is that the whole marriage arrangement on this side of the world should be re-arranged. Maybe we would hear less of these DV stories.
Without diminishing any woman's story, it is time Nigerian women let their men tell their stories without being shamed. Who knows that may lead to a better understanding of the funny and very nearly phony arrangement called the Nigerian marriage.
Till then, ...
No excuse to beat her up, she is not your child...why tell not to do something is she not an adult? You lot are not ready for marriage, you are looking for slaves not wives!
