Nigerian footballer and former Flying Eagles midfielder Daniel Daga has been cleared of sexual assault charges by a Norwegian Court of Appeal. Daga was initially sentenced to six months in prison in March 2026 after he was found guilty of committing a sxxual act without consent. He appealed the ruling, maintaining that he was innocent.
His club, Molde FK, confirmed on Thursday July 2, 2026 that the Court of Appeal has acquitted him and they also announced that he is now eligible to return to the team, although the judgment is not yet legally binding.
The nineteen‑year‑old joined Molde in 2025 and has made fifteen appearances, scoring three goals for the Norwegian side.
