Speaking at a press conference, SOKAPU said Umahi placed a WhatsApp call to Kato at about 9:39am on July 28, 2026, allegedly telling him: “I will teach you a lesson of your life… I will deal with you” for initiating a N20 billion suit demanding a transparent investigation and autopsy into Habila’s death. The nurse died on June 27, 2026, at Umahi’s residence in Uburu, Ebonyi State.
SOKAPU described the alleged threat as an attempt to intimidate the association and stop it from pursuing justice. The group insisted it has a constitutional right to seek accountability and will not be cowed by pressure from public officials.
The association called on Nigerians to support its demand for truth in the case and urged residents of Southern Kaduna to remain calm as the matter proceeds in court.
