She made the appeal during her visit to Kogi State, stressing that while luxury lifestyles are fine, the burden on the government is heavy and wealthy entertainers can make a significant impact by helping struggling citizens.
She referenced examples of small‑scale traders who were able to grow their businesses through targeted support, noting that structured celebrity foundations could empower many more people across the country.
“I want to appeal to our young people in this country. Burna Boy, Asake and Davido, we want to see you come together under one foundation to help the poor with your money. The Maybachs and Rolls-Royces are good, but you can still help. The burden on the government is huge.”

They don't owe Nigerians a dime! You and your husband should resign if the work load is too much for you.
ReplyDeleteExactly
Delete🤣🤣🤣chei Nigeria my country
DeleteMana Eziokwu
But you are right dear miss Aboki
Regionalisation is the way. Make everyone face their region and hold their leaders accountable. We are too much in this country and the truth is we have no business being together. Because we are very very different.
DeleteAnd the use of South's resources to cater for the North is utter nonsense. Thinking of the fact that most of the vices plaguing this country is from them. You cannot lump the sophisticated South westerners to the backward North!
This one Nigeria is not favouring the South in anyway at all. I pray the Southern leaders wake up to see this truth staring at us in the face. Well, I still have a ray of hope in this regime to actualize this for us.
If Tinubu can't nobody would.
You can imagine someone from k%gi telling a Yoruba man to resign? What do they remit to the Nigeria purse? A state that's a huge beneficiary of One Nigeria. We need to understand that we are not mates in this country. Mtchew
Anon 08:32,
DeleteI don’t like the ineptitude of this current administration. The President and his team of ministers have shown gross incompetence in governance.
However, I agree with you that what Nigeria needs right now is restructuring. Systematically, Tinubu appears to be going that route. I have a feeling Nigeria will be restructured.
The state police move is in that direction. Before the end of this administration, we’re likely to see more decentralization of federal power to the states.
If Tinubu achieves this restructuring, I’ll give him credit for it.

Very simple @ Miss Aboki
DeleteLOL @we are not mates in this country.

Very nonsense talk.
DeleteGuilt tripping citizens who worked hard for their money is wrong.
It's not your fault. It's the people supporting and enabling your nonsense i blame.
ReplyDeleteIncompetent human beings.
Can you imagine the rubbish. They should support vulnerable Nigerians. Who made them vulnerable? Thunder faya that her mouth. And people still go about supporting them .

Madam first Lady, from what you are saying it means that your husband is no longer capable of handling Nigeria issues, the best thing to do is to just jeje allow someone that is capable to run this country next year, and shame surpose catch you for that thing you said about davido and the rest to help the poor..
ReplyDeleteThis is so shameful to say.
ReplyDeleteIs Burna Boy, Davido, and Asake richer than the Otedolas, Dangote, etc.? Why is she not asking them for help the ones who get government waivers and incentives for their businesses?
What happened to all the money borrowed by the President, her husband? What about the revenue from subsidy removal? What about the ₦8.8 trillion reportedly missing according to the IMF report?
Who embezzled it and for what purpose?
How much do she think these musicians have that can alleviate the number of poor Nigerians?
Something they themselves refused to do is what they’re now trying to guilt-trip innocent citizens into doing.
What a shame.

***How much does she think
DeleteThanks Anon.
DeleteAn oversight. Typing in a hurry.

What about the money Buhari recovered from corrupt politicians that served in Goodluck Jonathan's tenure?
DeleteWhat of the numerous forfeited properties court seized from fraudulent Nigerians eg Diezani, Emefiele, and many others? There's no transparency in this government. There's huge mismanagement of public funds in all tiers of government. Such a shame. Stealing and looting still going on unabated.
This is so shameful to say.

ReplyDeleteEven if the three of them could collectively help 3000 Nigerians, in a country of almost 300 million ppl, that is a minuscule sum. While they have wealth, they do not have an indispensable source of wealth. They are working artists with their own responsibilities. Davido has small children he has to provide for through to post-secondary, the others will have their own families one day too. There are actual billionaires, who are billionaires in dollars, and who are on the Forbes list, these ppl have adult children who financially support themselves, it would be better to seek from those individuals.
ReplyDeleteWhy not sell government bonds specifically to target poverty alleviation. It is through the sale of government bonds that Ethiopia has made a 180 degrees transformation, so much so that slums no longer exist and the government there was able to remove the homeless population into apartments.
Leave these celebrities alone, they did not participate in governmental corruption. When you have individuals who have stolen billions from the public coffers getting a slap on the wrist and no real consequences for their actions why won’t your country be the only one on earth where rats eat billions, per the explanation provided for missing funds. Asking others to solve a problem brought on by thievery from elected officials, while the thieves are left to flourish and enjoy the fruits of their evil is abominable. Davido, BB, and Asake deserve to enjoy the fruits of their hard earned labour without any guilt. Their work takes a physical toll on their bodies, causing greater exposure to radiation flying around constantly, vocal cord strain, exhaustion, ears exposed to loud music constantly, eating whatever is available, greater exposure to pathogens. The thieves sit in air conditioned offices and take in comfort without a worry and no restitution is expected from them, none has received imprisonment at hard labour. They are not cleaning the streets or public toilets, making blocks, or made to mix cement, no expectations are placed on these scums and their stolen loot. Off to Dubai they go to enjoy their evil lives.
Remi Tinubu is making a joke of the plight of the poor masses. She don turn comedienne.
ReplyDeleteY'all get your PVCs ready. Let us vote out this failed government. We have suffered enough and we are tired!!
