Nigeria's Minister Of Defence Musa Denies Resignation And Threatens To Sue Rumour Mongers

Minister of Defence, Gen Christopher Musa (retd.), has dismissed claims that he resigned, calling the rumour “shocking” and completely false. After a closed‑door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa, he said he never discussed leaving office and has no idea where the story came from.

Musa said those spreading the rumour are people unhappy with the government’s improving security record and warned that legal action will be taken against whoever started it.
He described the report as a deliberate attempt to weaken public confidence, and added that security is getting better and some individuals are uncomfortable with that progress.

  3. Security is getting better, how exactly? I hate it when people blatantly lie to cover up incompetence or massage the egos of their paymasters.

You can debunk rumors, I have no problem with that. But saying security is improving is a lie taken too far. Is the under-reporting of kidnappings from a few days ago your definition of "improvement"?

Just recently, the government told us the Oyo students and teacher were rescued, and that a soldier paid the ultimate price. Surprisingly, one of the so-called "rescued" victims came out to say they were RELEASED and handed over to government representatives.

So who’s lying here? Who are they trying to fool? If there was actually a rescue, where’s the footage of the gunfight? Where are the casualties of the terrorists?

At the end of the day, the government and security agencies know exactly what they’re doing.
