Police Arrest Man For Harassing His Late Son’s Wife Just 8 Days After Burial

Police in Lagos have arrested the father‑in‑law of 28‑year‑old widow Tosin Omolola after she reported relentless harassment, intimidation and threats from her husband’s family barely eight days after her husband died on July 20, 2026.

Tosin, a mother of two, told the Lagos State Domestic and Sxxual Violence Agency (DSVA) that the abuse happened in Ikorodu, where she was allegedly assaulted and threatened by her in‑laws. She had already lodged a complaint at the Owutu Police Division before the matter escalated.

In a statement released on July 29, the DSVA confirmed that the alleged perpetrator , Tosin’s father‑in‑law has been arrested and is currently in police custody as investigations continue. The agency stressed that the Lagos State Government is committed to protecting Tosin and her children and will ensure justice is served.

The case gained public attention after activist Harrison Gwamnishu shared videos of Tosin’s ordeal online. According to him, the mother‑in‑law and other family members have now vacated the house, leaving it for the young widow. This was confirmed during a video call with Tosin and her two sons.

    1. The father-in-law and his family might go diabolical on her.

If the house/property is owned by her late husband, she should consider leasing it out and buying another house for herself and their sons.🙏🏿

    2. 19:01, this is what I am concerned about and even worst. She needs other eyes and ears in the community and to be prayerful. Someone from her family should be in the house with them. The only good thing is that the public knows.

  3. See his face. Instead of looking for a way to help his late son train his kids, he is trying to collect property.
