In a video posted on Instagram, Morayo said the caller (whom we get to know is female after Toyins comment) said words like “koni da fun e” and other words she refused to repeat.
Morayo, who has spent over 21 years in media and hosted daily TV shows for 12 years, said she was shocked because she always treats her guests with respect. Some receive questions ahead of time, others get a list of topics to avoid, and she never tries to embarrass anyone. Her show, The Morayo Show, is built on love, joy and honest conversations.
She noted that recent interviews sparked criticism, including her questions to former Minister Babatunde Fashola about religion, actress Ireti Doyle about her marriage, and actor Deyemi Okanlawon about his experience at a widely publicised funeral. While she is used to social media backlash, she said a direct phone call filled with curses crossed the line.
Morayo wrote:
“First it was why I asked Mr Fashola about religion. Then it was why I asked Aunty Ireti Doyle about her marriage. Then they questioned why I asked my guest about his experience at widely publicised funeral. Now this? News Flash, I am no novice. I have earned the place to ask questions as I deem fit. As long as my guests do not feel humiliated, disappointed or dishonoured, I have done my job and adhered to the vision on my show.”

Continue to ask questions as you deem fit and they will continue to rain abuses on you as they seem fit. You people don't know how to ask educative questions, na about marriage and kneeling. You never see anything.
ReplyDeleteSo because she doesn't ask "educative" questions, it's proper for her to be cursed? Na wah for you. If you don't enjoy someone's content, you skip it. This your comment is not it at all
DeleteIt's part of your job
ReplyDeleteRumor mongers are saying it was Jenifa that called her to rain insults on her for asking Toyin questions about her.
ReplyDeleteAbeg their wahala too much.
Na why this Toyin dey vex me. That response from her is unnecessary and could fuel rumours. The journalist was wise enough to not even mention a name or try to make it about her case alone, but she cited it as a normal occurrence that spun from her job. And there's Toyin trying to make it look like it was Funke that called. Funke no get that kain time abeg. Hypocritical people are the worst kinds you can surround yourself with. Mtsheeeew 😒😒😒
ReplyDeleteEven if it was Funke that called, why should she be ignored? Doesn't she have a right to ask people not to mention her in events that have nothing to do with her? What exactly is the essence of the question? Hian! ðŸ˜
Read your comment and shook my head. Let's learn to apply wisdom in everything we do. The fact that you love Funke shouldn't make you forget she just human like 8. Morayo received a call from Funke asking why she would raise the topic again after such a long time which is not wrong. Then another person called to curse her for same reason.
DeleteAs for Toyim, her response was clear and precise :she doesn't dwell in her past. What's wrong with that response? Yall need to start thinking objectively for yourselves really.
Anon, I'm not talking about Toyin's response during the interview. I'm referring to the screenshot up there. Who is the "she" Toyin is referring to? Did Morayo mention any name?
DeleteAs she don join group wearing double clothes, plenty plenty cover clothes with dry body, aunti morayo abi you too don carry?
ReplyDeleteOloun maje😯😯😯😯
Trolls shaa...
ReplyDeleteMorayo should give a phone call 5 seconds grace. If it's not or no longer making sense, Omo ologo should cut and block.
