The former VP described the remarks as another failed attempt to rewrite history. He further added that the fight against the third term agenda was about defending Nigeria's democracy. He maintained that he stood by Obasanjo during his imprisonment, worked for his release, and helped rebuild his political career while he also supported his family.
He stated that he has no regrets even though their relationship is not how it used to be.
