UEFA Maintains Boycott Threat Despite Infantino’s Apology

UEFA has reaffirmed its threat to boycott FIFA competitions even after President Gianni Infantino issued a public apology over his controversial plan to sell stakes in the World Cup.

The European football body said its 55 member associations remain united in their stance, insisting that FIFA’s apology does not address their core concerns. UEFA demanded written guarantees that no future attempt will be made to privatize World Cup rights or undermine the sport’s integrity.

Officials described Infantino’s apology as “insufficient” and accused FIFA of failing to rebuild trust.
The dispute stems from Infantino’s abandoned proposal to sell commercial rights to private investors , a move that sparked global outrage.
While the Confederation of African Football has backed Infantino, UEFA’s position remains firm, and the first affected event could be the Under‑20 Women’s World Cup in Poland next month if no resolution is reached.

Hmmm Africans will support nonsense!

  2. I like how UEFA is resolute in their stance, even Portuguese ex footballer Luis Figo has called for Infantino’s resignation but CAF , Mexico , Argentina are fully behind him
