Hmmmmmmm....
STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
ADVICE NEEDEDI need you people to know that i am emotionally exhausted and that is why i am sending in this Chronicle...I was so ashamed i could not send a mail but had to drop it in a post as Stella normally tells us to do...…
My wife suddenly changed overnight!
I love her but right now i dont have any emotions, because her personal hygiene is tearing me apart. This woman can go days without bathing.
Her clothes smell.!!!!
The bed, the bathroom, even the air around her feels heavy and i cannot kiss her to get intimate anymore cos of this smell….
I’ve tried talking gently but she ended up shouting... I’ve tried being direct but that didnt work... I’ve begged, I’ve pleaded, I’ve even cried but she gets defensive, and says that i’m insulting her.
After all these emotions and verbal stress, nothing changes.
I feel trapped between love and discomfort. I don’t want to shame her or to hurt her. But living like this is affecting my peace and has damaged my attraction to her...God forbids that i even want to gbensh her again cos the smell when i go near her or she walks by has messed up my manhood..
What do you advice at this stage? Note that i said i dont want to shame or hurt her, and telling anyone this will be doing just that…..
She goes out so i am guessing i am not the only one that has noted this smell…
Ah mental health issues!!!....She needs love and help at this time...Dunno what she has but since you are breaking down, thats a dangerous combination, so please Oga pack your bags and run temporarily oooooooooooo
PS- folder is empty oooooooooooooooo. Please send in ya Chronicle.

You dont have a problem when you know what to do, get a side chick that's beautiful and smells great.
ReplyDeleteShe might be going through a lot mentally. Please handle with care. No woman in Their right senses will want to be seen smelling like that. Get professionals involved please.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried praying for her? Please there’s nothing God cannot do so I suggest you keep praying till she comes back to her senses and realize that cleanliness is near to godliness
ReplyDeletePoster, you have begged, cried, pleaded like you said, what more is there to do? It's your choice, stay or leave.sometimes love is not enough.i once had a partner exactly like this, I stayed cos of love, and when I couldn't cope,I simply left.its that simple.learn to cope with it or don't.
ReplyDeleteNo body deserves to live with such discomfort. Instead of coming home to a nice scented house and woman, you get....Nna eh!
She goes out with that smell 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮. You have tried talking to her, but her mind's made up. She wants to be a pig. She is dirty
ReplyDeleteNeglecting personal hygiene is usually the first sign of dementia. Another angle could be dabbling in the dark arts or receiving a spiritual arrow. Whatever the reason, it needs to be approached with empathy, not attack.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can use style to entice her to a romantic shower. Wash her hair and make it something fun. If she does not bite you may have to involve a trusted sister, mother, or aunt. Do not try to fix this on your own. Get help, early intervention makes a difference. If you have a washing machine or househelp you can ensure that her clothes are cleaned, as well as the bedsheets and towels. You can ensure the cleaning is done on time without waiting on her to initiate anything.
Dear Poster, you should do these ☝🏽 first before we conclude that it is spiritual.
DeleteThis is really really bad. Have you spoken to her parents and siblings?
ReplyDeleteDo you have kids? If you do, how does she handle them?
You have really suffered poster.
Do you still eat her food?
Run away from her..
ReplyDeleteShe will be the one going up and down, disgracing herself with her smell, reporting you,so people can see what you are going through and why you left..
Dirty woman 🤢🤮
You are frustrated because you think you are dealing with a hygiene problem and not a severe mental health crisis. Nobody just wakes up and decides to stop bathing until they smell. Suddenly abandoning basic hygiene could be a physical symptom of Severe clinical depression or a massive pssychological breakdown. her basic executive functions have completely shut down. You might think taking a shower takes 10 minutes so why isn't she doing it? but to her depressed brain, is like climbing a mountain with bags of cements on her back. As her husband you are worrying bout the wrong thing, which is intimacy while your wife is simply fighting for her life in her own mind.
ReplyDeleteYou are ashamed and tired, which is completely normal after all, you are a human being but you need to know that your wife did not choose this, and instead of worrying about why you cannot kiss her or sleep with her right now think of how to step us proactively for her because she is drowning and you cannot expect a drowning woman to be romantic.
Do not argue with her about bathing or doing anything she has stopped doing because your wife's brain cannot process logic right now. You simply need run the bathwater, hold her hand, and gently help her wash and if she refuses drop the matter with a smile not irritation. She sees your repulsion and it makes her refrain from you even more. Try to treat her with the kimd of grace you would give a sick patient in a hospital.
Don't get me wrong I am not saying you are not trying because you are carrying a burden that is too heavy for one man to carry without a medical degree but the issue id you are using the wrong tools for the job. you cannot use relationship tools (begging, crying, negotiating) to cure a clinical situation
Did she deliveree a child, recently lose a parent, a job, or suffer a silent miscarriage? Or she could be suffering from something you have no idea about and fear if you know you may judge her because her level of self-neglect is a silent cry
Dontvonfront her because you will only get defensiveness from her which is a tactic to deflect from her own embarrassing situation. She is not clueless about her situation she just help herself to not be that way. Let me tell you the truth. See, The more you talk, the more exhausted you will get and the more alienated she would feel.
Stylishly encourage her to a psychiatrist or a clinical psychologist Call her Beautiful, and say that you noticed she has been looking so tired and her breathing seems heavy. Tell her you have booked you both for a full body checkup just to be safe.
Stop mentioning smell , hygiene, bad breath etc be careful about how you phrase words to her hearing so you won't seem judgemental.
God forbid you ever sleep with her again? Her you not her husband? Have you written her off?
When you people were at the altar, looking into each other's eyes, did you have a very romanticized idea of whatfor better, for worse
amd in sickness and in health will look like? Did you think it meant eating Indomie for a few months when somebody loses a job, or dealing with a partner who is cranky because they have a fever . sometimes for better for worse looks exactly like what you just shared. Like severe clinical depression or a partner who cannot get out of bed, who smells, has lost their mind to a chemical imbalance. Marital vow is an eternal promise that when the feeling of love disappears the action of love (caregiving, patience, seeking medical help) will take over. Just thought I should remind you.
I repeat you are completely valid in feeling tired but the phrase God forbid is keep with her again sounds mean but I guess its because you don't know what you have on your hands.
This is the ultimate test of your love. It looks heavy and exhausting but you have the strength to pull through with her. If you guys can overcome this together then you can overcome anything.
talk to her siblings or parents or close friends
ReplyDeleteSorry, bro. I know what you’re going through isn’t easy.
ReplyDeleteBefore I give any real advice, there are a few things I’d like to understand.
1. How old is she?
2. Do you have children in the marriage?
3. Was she like this when you were dating or when you first got married?
4. Does she have close friends?
5. How do you respond to the issue of her hygiene? Is it done in a way that comes off as condescending? Because that might be why she’s getting defensive.
If I had answers to these, I’d be able to advise you better.
But here are a few things I’ll say for now.
Please don’t give up on her yet. I believe nothing is impossible.
1. Lead with help, not shame. Get the basic things she needs deodorant, body spray, soap, skincare. Make it easy for her.
2. Lead by example. You both can shower together in the morning before work and at night when you return. Use that time to connect, not to criticize. Hygiene can be taught romantically, with love.
3. Get into action, don’t just condemn. I’m glad you’re not exposing her to public ridicule. But there’s more you can do at home to help her improve.
4. Bring in a third party. You can get a female hygiene coach or counselor to come to the house for a few sessions. Sometimes people don’t take correction from their spouse but will listen to a neutral expert.
Finally, please don’t leave her because of this especially if she wasn’t like this when you married her. Something might have triggered it, and that’s what you both need to find out and heal together.

Something is wrong with her psychologically.
ReplyDeleteShe needs a psychiatrist to evaluate what is going on with her and solution.
I pray for her healing.
Mental health. Did she recently give birth ?
ReplyDeleteYour wife is depressed. What you do next is entirely up to you.
ReplyDeleteYou can help her seek help or you can cut loose and run.
Only you can decide your next step.
I understand your frustration, but because you said this change happened suddenly, please don't assume she is simply being careless. Something physical, emotional, or psychological could be going on.
ReplyDeleteHave one mote calm conversation with her, not from a place of disgust but concern. Tell her that you love her, but the change in hygiene is affecting your attraction, intimacy, and peace, and ask if something is wrong. If she becomes defensive or refuses to address it, suggest seeing a doctor or counsellor, and if necessary, consider marriage counselling.
You don't have to force intimacy when you're uncomfortable, but handle the situation with compassion and firmness. Don't shame her or let frustration turn into resentment.
I'm genuinely surprised at the number of men who cannot spot obvious mental health issues. Man seek help for your wife fast before it degenerates.
ReplyDeleteThose saying depression, no it's more serious than that, she was probably depressed but it wasn't noticed, she's 'degenerating' into a more serious mental health issue. Poster please help your wife
ReplyDeleteThis is terrible. At this point she needs an intervention. Tell someone she respects to talk to her
ReplyDeletePoster, please don't handle this issue with kid glove.I hope she did give birth recently. If so it could be post partum psychosis. She need medical attention. The earlier the better.May God strengthen you.
ReplyDeletePlease, try to help her. Just like some already said, it might be psychological or maybe all these ritual thing that you're not aware of. I don't believe that someone who used to be really neat, would dude start being dirty. I pray help comes fast
