Olikoyede who was at the 2026 NIREC Council Meeting in Abuja, said religious leaders are free to run legitimate businesses, but must never mix organisational funds with personal money, because followers notice when leaders misuse faith resources.
He urged churches and mosques to set up proper financial systems that clearly separate personal finances from organisational funds.He noted that religious institutions carry a special responsibility to shape character and promote honesty.
Olukoyede also cautioned against celebrating unexplained wealth in places of worship, and warned that accepting huge donations or dedicating buildings without asking questions can give cover to proceeds of crime.

ReplyDeleteToo many ppl give cash gifts and cash is difficult to make accountable. In this abroad land that I live, many small businesses will remove the sales tax or give you a discount if you pay cash. It mutually benefits both the shopper and the store.
