The group was found during a raid by a special team from Ghana after relatives raised alarm over repeated demands for more money. Some victims said they paid up to GH¢300,000, selling their businesses to fund what they believed was a legitimate travel process.

Both Ghanaian and Nigerian authorities are investigating the recruitment network behind the scheme, with reports suggesting six similar camps may exist in the area.
