The Head of Service, Olanrewaju Saka, explained that the Additional Pension Benefit was introduced to cushion the gap between what retirees would have earned under the old Defined Benefit Scheme and what they now receive under the Contributory Pension Scheme.
According to him, the initiative ensures that retirees are not financially disadvantaged by the transition between the two systems.
Saka assured retirees that the government remains committed to transparency, regular engagement, and proper management of retirement benefits. He also advised serving public officers to keep their pension records accurate and up to date to avoid delays during processing.

God bless the Governor
