Les Goldberg's friends thought he was crazy when he cashed in his personal investments to buy a home to lease for the homeless. A retired engineer, Les felt it was the only decision he could make. He spends a minimum of one hour each day with his homeless friends and has helped renovate several properties on their behalf. In all his efforts, Goldberg never regarded the homeless as irresponsible or unreliable; he only saw them as people. Hurting people! He figured the house he purchased could be used as both a temporary shelter and a drop-in centre - a place where homeless people might pick up post, make phone calls, follow up job leads and receive donated commodities. Four homeless men live at the house, paying minimal rent to offset expenses. House rules are strict: no alcohol, no drugs, no loitering. Goldberg has never been rich. For twenty years he ran his own small business designing and installing fire sprinklers. He simply was a man who saw an unmet need and found a way to help meet it.

Mother Teresa said: 'We cannot all do great things, but we can all do small things with great love.' Jesus put it this way: 'If you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded' (Matthew 10:42 NLT).

As you go through your day, keep your heart open and ask God to make you a solution to someone else's problem. When you do, 'You will surely be rewarded.'

Yesterday, I saw a quote and it hasn’t left my mind. It reminded me of something that happened about four years ago.

The quote read;

"Take the blame and disappear. Be the villain and leave the story. You know what happened and God knows what happened. Remember there is no point in begging people to understand how their actions hurt you or affected you. There is no point in explaining your feelings to someone who thinks the problem is your reaction and not their actions. So stop seeking closure from people who don't even have basic accountability."

(Deep breathe)

Something I’ve come to understand about life is this. Whatever we do has a way of coming back. Good deeds return to bless us. Evil we condone, support, or carry out comes back to haunt us. Someone who refused to believe me when I was framed and lied on even after hearing my side, suffered the same fate four years after. From the same person who did me dirty. Now it made perfect sense, because they finally walked the same path I did.

It took them four years to realize I was telling the truth. Pretty too late. I have moved on from all of it. Life has a way of vindicating the innocent.

Use yourself before they use you for themselves. Everyone isn't born or created with a silver spoon. It's not a crime to be a slave or serve people to earn a living but it's an error on you if you aren't planning to be your on boss while serving anyone.

God has truly created us with different talent, strength, ability and agility but the question is, "what are you using yours for"?.

If you notice that, the person you are serving isn't planning on how to make things better for you or you realize you are not growing under anyone, then, it's time to move forward and think on how to be a better person. Don't be deceived with the Yoruba adage that says " a ki nle ni mosan ka mu kikan"(it's not possible to have people in a good position and still suffer). Na complete scam oooo if you are not smart. Don't get me wrong, been smart isn't all about trying to steal or take what isn't yours but working wise to make sure you aren't working or having a rich uncle or brother in a position while you are still suffering.

This is from my past experiences and I fill it's time I make some eyes that have been closed open to reality. Every Boss was once an apprentice but while serving, open your eyes and plan for your future before you waste the most important years of your life.

I repeat, USE YOURSELF BEFORE THEY USE YOU.
