Actor Yul Edochie Cites The Bible To Defend Polygamy

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie made a post declaring that polygamy is not a sin.

He wrote
" POLYGAMY IS NOT A SIN.
Even in the bible, many great men there had many wives and God never had issues with them.
He was even willing to give them more.
Today, many men are destined to have many wives but because they don’t know who they are and scared of what society will say they end up having just one and life doesn’t seem to be working for them."

  4. Polygamy isn't a sin but can you actually love both of them same way?

The answer is No? Even the children you gave birth to cannot have same level of affection from you.

The above will automatically lead you to committing sin due to preferential treatment.

Have you thought about the negative impact of polygamy ok the children after the said husband might have gone?

Something is wrong somewhere man. You need to check ur bp

    1. When you paint a negative picture of polygamy, do you also talk about the good side of it? An honest question. Are all polygamous marriages bad? Do all polygamous homes end in battles after the man passes on?

Quite understandable, the issues associated with polygamy, but that doesn't erase the fact that there are blissful polygamous homes out there. I have no condemnation or issues with polygamy, just carry your first wife along in the decision. That was the very place I blamed Yul Edochie in all of his marriage saga. He's entitled as an African and traditional man to have two wives, but consent from his wife was so necessary, and that was where he got it wrong.

One bad polygamous home shouldn't be a yardstick to say every polygamous home is bad or will end up broken.

  5. It might be time to address the elephant in the room that doesn't really get talked about. The bible as we know it objectifies women and is a very misogynistic book. There isn't the space here to lay this out in full.

The pastor that was trending worldwide yesterday for revealing that he had taken another wife, used Exodus 21:10 as the basis for his decision. Reading that chapter from the beginning, shows a darker undertone. It was dedicated to addressing how a master should relate with his slave and basically regarded women as property. One without will, say and agency so long as her needs are met. For all intents and purposes, she is chattel.

Paul in 1st Corinthians 14:34 makes it clear this is not just an old testament thing as some are likely to allude.

This dark evil is becoming mainstream and acceptable across the globe. This is what is behind Andrew Tate's red pill movement and the increasingly powerful evangelical movement in the United States with its hardcore embrace of the bible as a weapon of control and subversion.

Sad to say, Yul isn't necessarily wrong. The bible justifies his beliefs but then again anyone can find a verse in the bible that supports what they want to believe.

    1. And this is why Christ had to come and change the mindset of the people. If they indeed were living right and upright before God and He was happy with it then there would be no need for Christ. Folks love to mention those men of old because they literally lived anyhow, shedding blood meant nothing, witchcraft and divination were acceptable, idolatry and all manner of things could be done. They love the Old Testament because it is similar to their own lifestyle and beliefs, it feeds the reptilian brain. They conveniently choose to forget the message and authority of Christ. They don’t want to stop doing animal sacrifices, they don’t want to stop divination and witchcraft, they don’t like any to work on there lust, it is easier to marry many instead of saying I have a problem with greed and lust.

The Old Testament reflects the culture of the day. The problem ppl have is conflating cultural practices with Godly acceptance. God hated a lot of their practices and could not tolerate them.

    4. They don't love the old testament they just love the bad things in the old testament

After all there was purity culture in the old testament
Men and women do not sleep over at each other houses
There was no cohabitation let check if we are compatible while living together

A lot of people just love bad bad things

  8. Who is a Christian? One that is Christ like
One that follows the teaching of Christ so please read what Christ said about marriage. In the beginning God made them male and female.

  10. Yul Edochie, did you sign up to Polygamy when you married your wife? If after many years you suddenly realise that polygamy is not a sin and you have slept with a number of women, including Chinedu and Judy then you lack integrity.

All you are saying now is to justify what you are doing with women.

Do you not think of your family name and your future?

  11. My point exactly. Yul is just shameless. Today actor, tomorrow prophet, next estate agent now Lizzy Gold is on the line.

Lizzy na Itshekiri woman o. Those women tear eye very well. Na them dey control man o!! Try and mess with her and see what she will do to you!!!

Indeed May dodge a bullet but deep down Yul is regretting. He is just using bold face. Look at him very well, he is a finished man. His coming to Lizzy Gold is for help. It’s well
