Speaking amid tears, she said, “This is a sad reality for me because my boys are not with me, and I am not happy about that. That isn’t my bone of contention; my worry is my kids being with another woman who isn’t treating them well. There was an argument or discussion in my children’s father’s house involving his wife, some of his children, and mine. I heard his wife telling her child not to beat one of my sons, where the father would see the mark, but to rather strangle them or hold them by the neck. Family, friends, I have recorded evidence because nobody knew I was on call.
I have complained about this to my sons' father, who refuses to act on it because he is so much in love with his wife, and he wants to take my kids away from me as a form of punishment. Now, I am crying out; I have been silent for so long. I am bringing it out; all I am asking is for my kids not to be with a stepmother. This particular stepmother is a hypocrite; she has two faces. She behaves nicely when she sees you, but inside, she is a devil.”
Laide concluded by saying that she has been “living in fear” and begs Nigerians to intervene. This is not the first time Laide is calling out her exes. In 2023, she dragged them as “Awon ex-hubby isonu” for being deadbeat fathers. The actress shares a daughter, Simi, with her first husband, Olumide Okufulure, and two sons with Orilowo. Her ex-husband and his wife are yet to respond to the allegations.
Their father should release the boys to the mother so that she can take care of them.
