Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative

 Hmmmmmmm....

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
CHILDHOOD TRAUMA

I was traumatized while growing up and I know deep down in me that it has damaged me. I have serious anger issues, I do not know how to socialize with people, I have low self esteem and zero self confidence and I know I’m projecting and probably hurting those around me because like they say “hurt people, hurt people” I genuinely need help, I need to be better, I know I need help but I don’t even know how to go about it so let me just trauma dump here.

Childhood trauma almost never goes away.....Most of the people here are carrying one trauma or the other so be sure of getting good advice...Sometimes trauma from childhood never goes away but if you can identify that something hurt you, then intentionally try to heal...
Now let me address them one after the other..
Anger can and wil destroy you if you dont tame it.....Learn to be angry for only short period and please control yourself whilst angry...dont say anything and always walk away to calm down.
You do not know how to socialise? No wahala, start attending everything and anything available...Be approachable and gum a smile on your face...
Low self esteem and zero confidence..? Start working on so that you dont pass this to your kids oh..
Be intentional about healing!
Please i hope it is not forced gbenshing that traumatised you? please heal well!

  1. You’ve taken the first step, which is identifying your pain and being accountable for how you’re showing up, such as the anger issues.

Start working on the anger issues by learning to not react, even if you believe that you look weak. Try it for 30 days first.

Next step is to start being kind to yourself intentionally. The things you say to yourself in your head and even about yourself. Be nice.

If you are a Christian, start a prayer journey - a consistent one that you plan ahead with specific points to attack those issues that are hurting you. This should be a personal prayer pact with you, God and Jesus.

I can’t write more as you didn’t expatiate on the trauma.

These are just some of the things that I did and they work for me.

I hope this helps even just a little.

  2. Professional counselling can be very good for your circumstance.
However, I want to point out some facts to you. Anger is also known as irritability. It is normal for all humans to feel angry, but degrees vary based on nature and nurture.

  3. You might need to check if any of your parents have anger issues, including your grandparents. If it is in them, the gene might be transferred to the offspring.

  4. Being able to admit that you were hurt, that it affected you, and that you may have hurt people because of it takes a lot of self-awareness. What happened to you growing up may explain some of the things you struggle with today, but it doesn't have to define the person you become. Your anger, low self-esteem, difficulty trusting or socializing, and the way you react to people are things you can work on. You are not permanently damaged.

I genuinely think you should consider talking to a therapist, preferably someone who works with trauma. You don't have to wait until things get worse or until you have everything figured out before seeking help. You can literally tell the therapist exactly what you wrote here and they can help you unpack where these reactions come from and teach you healthier ways to deal with them

In the meantime, start paying attention to your triggers. When you get angry, don't immediately react. Give yourself time to calm down, leave the situation if necessary, and come back when you're able to communicate without trying to hurt either yourself or someone. At least start from this one first cos anger destroys. Once your anger issue is dealt with, you will see other areas becoming easier to handle.

  5. If non of your parents or grandparents have anger issues, it might be that you were over pampered to the extent that you always have your way in anything. When it is not given, you enter into anger mode.

  6. On self confidence. The first thing is to love and value yourself. When you do so, it does not mean that others will automatically love and value you. But what it means is that you can't enable them to treat you like thrash.
Learn to think issues out before action or commenting on them.
Everybody has some lack of confidence at some point in time. But the degrees vary.
If you don't see yourself as a king or queen, nobody else will do that for you. Only a few will try to help you get confidence in your dealings with them. The rest will definitely take advantage of that to cheat you or deprive you of your rights in one way or the other.

  7. Like Stella suggested, start mixing up with people small small. It could be in a church, funeral, wedding, seminar etc. It helps a lot in boosting your confidence levels.
Instead of waiting for people to greet you first, initiate the greeting yourself and from their have small conversations. If the person doesn't appreciate your company, you will know from the initial conversation. Let that not discourage you. Everybody must not like you. Continue with other people.

  8. It is because of the childhood trauma that you really need a compassionate and professional counsellor, who will hear your secrets and still keep them secret.

    1. You mean you are irritated by the way he comments? You have a problem yourself. We should be glad that his comments are logical not this degrading comment you dropped. The most important thing is for the poster to get an advice isn't it?
