The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Faisal Abdulrasheed Maina, the fugitive son of former Pension Reform Task Team chairman, Abdulrasheed Maina, and has handed him over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Security sources stated that Faisal, who had been on the run since 2020, was traced and apprehended by DSS operatives in the Karsana area of Abuja.
His arrest followed the EFCC’s recent declaration of him as a wanted person.
According to the sources, the DSS trailed Faisal after receiving intelligence on his movements and subsequently transferred him to the EFCC for further investigation and prosecution.
Faisal was being prosecuted for diverting public funds through suspicious transactions traced to him, but he jumped bail in 2020 and disappeared during his trial. His failure to appear in court led the Commission to issue a public notice declaring him wanted.
