The EFCC argued that the June 17,2026 judgment of the Southwark Crown Court in London has no bearing on the ongoing forfeiture case in Nigeria.
The commission maintained that the properties involved were forfeited through valid final orders of Nigerian courts and that the orders had not been set aside.
Diezani, however, is asking the court to order the EFCC to retrieve properties allegedly sold to third parties. She also argued that she was not given fair hearing before the forfeiture orders were made.
Justice Inyang Ekwo adjourned the matter until November 11, 2026 for hearing of the pending applications.
