Kenya Confirms First Ebola Death

Kenya has recorded its first‑ever Ebola case and fatality, confirmed by the Ministry of Health after a man who traveled from the DRC through Uganda to Nairobi tested positive for the Bundibugyo strain.

He died at Nairobi Hospital, prompting urgent contact tracing for passengers on Jambojet Flight 8523 and dozens of close contacts.
WHO and Africa CDC are assisting Kenya in containment efforts as border screening and public alerts intensify.

  1. This thing is very serious and I hope Nigerian government is putting efforts so we don’t have to witness what happened in 2014

    1. Honestly, I don't want to go through that experience again. I can still remember how life was using public transport to move around.

  2. I remember in the early 90s when I first learned about Ebola they made such a big deal about it as though it was going to be the next bubonic plague. Ebola hasn’t even taken as many lives as the flu or pneumonia which both continue to kill millions each year.
