Lagos State Gov Sanwo Olu Sacks LAWMA MD Gbadegesin Over Lagos Waste Crisis
Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu has ordered LAWMA boss Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin to resign over Lagos’ escalating waste crisis.
Despite declaring a state of emergency after visiting the Olusosun dumpsite, refuse continued to pile up across Mushin, Surulere, Ajegunle, Ikorodu, Apapa, Mile 2 and other areas.
Insiders say Gbadegesin was begging for more time, but the governor moved on and appointed Dr Hassan Sanuth as the new LAWMA MD to restore order and fast track waste evacuation across the state.

ReplyDeleteBetterment of eko is our motive
I hope the next person will do better
ReplyDeleteHope the new person will work
ReplyDeleteTruth be told, Lagos is messy especially when it rains ☔🥺
ReplyDeleteI hope it gets better
ReplyDeleteThey better get a fix on it before more rats and vermin start spreading deadly diseases. Everybody knows the value of sanitation and cleanliness so there is no reason not to practice it.
ReplyDeleteThe issue with waste and filth in Lagos is an uphill and a herculean task. Is it from the saturated landfills and no more access into them for the trucks to offload, the inadequate Waste compactor trucks ( just imagine the cost of maintaining one), the poor turnaround collection time ( waste disposal should be at a minimum twice a week) not forgetting citizens that do not want to pay for services and so dump the refuse on the street and road medians which are no mans land and not assigned to any operator ( who of course will not clear refuse they were not paid to clear)? All this being said, it does not change the fact that the person in charge needs to find a way, come up with a plan, get funding and backing for it and then get to work. The whole of Lagos is a dumpsite. I even forgot to mention the PSP operators that do not do their work properly. At times they leave a greater mess behind by not clearing the refuse completely.
ReplyDeleteAll these are excuses.
DeleteIf they appoint you for a role, find a way not excuses.
If you cannot find a way, then leave.
It's that simple.
Maybe the next person will find a way.
Have you seen a coach still coaching a losing team?
Either he coaches them to leave or they kick him out.
No time for plenty excuses.
The whole city is like a rubbish dump and LAGOS STINKS.
So Muyiwa Is Dirty .
ReplyDeleteIf You Cannot Do Your Job Well Another Person Will
