TikTok Sued Over Alleged Access Restrictions in Four Northern States In Nigeria

The Foundation for Digital Justice and Sustainable Development has filed a lawsuit against TikTok Inc. at the Federal High Court in Abuja, accusing the company of restricting access to its platform in Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, and Sokoto states.

According to the suit, users in the affected states have reportedly experienced unusual limitations when trying to access TikTok, prompting the organisation to seek legal intervention.
The Foundation argues that such restrictions violate citizens’ digital rights and disrupt their ability to participate freely on social media.

TikTok has not yet issued an official response to the allegations, and the court is expected to review the matter in the coming days
