The world sees a veteran journalist simply doing his job on television everyday. But what many may not fully appreciate is the enormity of the substance behind the name REUBEN ABATI
When it comes to journalism in Africa, you're a juggernaut. And I say this with authority: you remain one of the most enlightened, knowledgeable, and widely exposed minds in our media space.
I call you the MINDSWAYER, like Shakespeare, where literary genius transported people into different worlds and dimensions of thought, you use your intellect, scholarship and command of language to transport minds, challenge perspectives, a d bring people face to face with the realities of our society with DECORUM.Whether through the books you have authored, your newspaper columns, your commentary, or your voice on television and radio, your voice has shaped conversations, and influenced minds across generations and beyond our shores.
I sometimes questions why you've not chosen to own a media company or television house of your own.Perhaps, it is because you see YOUR INTELLECT AS A FOUNTAIN , NOT SOMETHING TO BE CONFINED TO AN INSTITUTION , BUT something TO BE SHARED WITH THE WORLD.Your greatest platform is your mind and it's reach cannot be measured by the walls of any Media organisation.
Your depth, Knowledge, and intellectual authority are difficult to match. You're a walking library, a reservoir of history ,politics, literature, culture and lived experience. There is always something to learn from listening to you.
But beyond the qualifications, the accolades, the intellectual satire, and everything the world sees, your greatest achievement, in my eyes, is the man you're at home.
You have been an incredible husband, not just to me, but to the family we have built, you have embraced fatherhood in its entirety, extending love, care and responsibility to all children and step children alike. You have shown up, played your part, and made family a priority.
Yes, we have our misunderstandings, a d sometimes, I can be silly(I know you will agree) but through it all, I'm grateful for the maturity, companionship, love and life we share.
To my hard-working man, I see every..."

His method of penmanship challenges and engages me.
ReplyDeleteSDK used to bring it here.SDK, why have you stopped? Has he stopped writing?
Having made my attraction to him known, I must say that I was disappointed that he chose to be the running mate to a certain person back then. But, I like his way of thinking enough to hope that he had good reason(s).
I also wonder why he chooses to sit on that news outlet. Again, I'm sure he has his reasons.
Happy Birthday Sir. Please continue to "weave your pen". You are a gift to the curious mind.
He doesn't write again like he used to....
DeleteOk SDK.
DeleteHappy birthday to him
ReplyDeleteLovely couple
ReplyDeleteIt bothers me when two grown adults think it’s appropriate to profess their love to strangers as a way to express their feelings for each other. While it’s understandable that they want to share their love, the downside is that when the relationship doesn’t work out, they often resort to asking the same people to respect their privacy. It’s like trying to have it both ways—you can’t eat your cake and expect to have it at the same time.
