Blog Visitor Cries ''See What ARIK Air Did To Me''

Stella I am a jobless political science student from unimaid. When I graduated I went into business selling hairs and shoes and sometime in july 2011 I arrived Nigeria from UK,i collected my luggage and went to check in on arik airline in the local airport with my goods.

On getting there I had an excess luggage of 16kg and was asked to pay about N6,500 naira or more and I pleaded that I had just arrived Nigeria and dign't have naira on me.
They said I should find them something so they help board the bag and after series of begging ,i gave them N1500 which was the only naira I had and went into the departure.
On the foot of the aircraft I identified my luggage and went into the aircraft. upon my arrival in jos it was a nightmare as my bag didn't arrive. All I went to UK to buy was gone!

Arik air asked me to fill a PIR form which I have attached, I did and didn't hear from them until after some weeks when they invited me to lagos .

I flew to lagos in excitement thinking my bag had been found but I was stupid! Arik air said they called me to tell me to be patient as my bag was soon going to be found.
On a faithful day I got a call from the investigation officer "Mr Austin Ani" to be exact and he said that he wanted to help me but that i wasnt smart .
he said that he would be in Abuja that weekend and that we should meet there and discuss. I knew where the talk was heading to I told him i couldnt make it and we should talk on the phone
He ended the call and pinged me saying he would not go futher with the case and arik will close it.
I taught it was a joke but the case closed till now.
A month after my return I was arrested and locked in cell "A division plateau state" becos I owe a lot of customers!
I had to sell my stuff and my honda 1998 to offset people I owed and to survive.

Till today arik has'nt called I am doing these because I want to be heard and I want it to get to the authorities. A lot of other people might have gone through the same and we have no platform to cry out on but thank God for what we have now.
Please help me put these out there.i have attached the form i was asked to fill to reclaim my luggage but till today,i have not heard from them or seen my luggage.
From
Rosemary Duruson.

*Ah ah,Arik air why nah?I hope this gets to them and they pay this lady for damages, notfair at all.

This careless attitude is just typical for many Nigerian businesses. I paid for a ticket online on behalf of my dad with Arik back in March and they never issued the ticket. My dad got to the airport and their staff kept giving excuses till he had to buy another ticket. I wrote them and keep writing them. They keep saying either 'send the details of the transaction' or 'we will soon credit your account' as a response. Their phone numbers just ring all day, no one picks up. I am fed up with them. The latest is to blame interswitch, Paid since March, now Its almost August.

Time for ENG 101. Too many grammatical errors biko!
One fateful day, and not On a faithful day.
I knew the direction the talk was headed; and not 'I knew where the talk was heading to" (Do not end sentences with prepositions eg. to, from etc.)
I thought it was a joke; and not, " I taught it was a joke".
To settle my creditors; and not to offset people I owed
At the local airport; and not, 'in the local airport"
At the foot of the aircraft; and not "on the foot of the aircraft"
All the things I went to the UK to buy were /had gone; and not "has gone"
Boarded the aircraft; and not "went into the aircraft"

Nouns and pronouns should be in caps ok?

    Oya, make the abuses begin!

  43. Blog Visitor, sorry about your predicament but please don't sleep on your rights! Contact the NCAA. They have just opened a new consumer protection directorate. Write to them. Also write to the Consumer Protection Council in Abuja. If you still do not get a satisfactory response from them, then you make sure you get a lawyer and sue Arik! Why do we do these things to ourselves? Why won't we fight back against companies such as Arik? Apart from the form you filled, have you written formally to Arik's management? Make sure you write to them and copy the NCAA and Consumer Protection Council (CPC) which is based in Abuja. Google is your friend to help you find out their address details. Make sure your letter has an acknowledgment copy so you can present this as evidence if need be. Also, make sure you save all your correspondences with Arik, either via text message, email or otherwise. I also hope you have saved a copy of the messages between you and that Mr Austin Ani the pervert? Gather as much evidence as you need, such as how Arik's negligence in losing your bags landed you in police custody, the financial, physical, mental and emotional losses you've suffered since this incident. I also hope you saved copies of your flight ticket when they invited you to lagos just to tell you they were still working on your case. In essence, get yourself a good lawyer! Don't you have any friends or relatives that are lawyers and can help out? I have given you enough free consultation today. I wish you all the best. Remember, evidence is everything as you need this to make any claims. Let this also be an advice to us Nigerians - keep records! Keep receipts, air ticket stubs, correspondences etc. You never know when you might need it to make a claim.

Let us tell ourselves the truth, our country is very very useless. Never satisfied with a hard days job, you have to steal and do other ridiculous things. As for Arik, their days are numbered. Mr. Austin Ani the pervert, i hope you lose your job soon. What an animal. So the girl should sleep with you before she receives her property. Your wife should cover her head in shame, and you should resign or be sacked. If you, an investigation officer is that bad, what will your staff be. Mr. Ikhide or whatever should better check the depravity in this airline. Afterall, other international airlines operate in Nigeria. Useless country. Poverty stricken people posing in expensive cars and using generator or buying water to drink. I wonder how that makes you rich even if you are dangote. Is this a country sef? I taya. "On getting there I had an excess luggage of 16kg and was asked to pay about N6,500 naira or more and I pleaded that I had just arrived Nigeria and dign't have naira on me.
They said I should find them something so they help board the bag and after series of begging ,i gave them N1500 which was the only naira I had and went into the departure".

Nigerian youths! We all complain of corruption! How can we have a better Nigeria if we are all willing to give bribe at the slightest opportunity? You preferred to pay 1,500 Naira to unnamed individuals instead of paying 6,500 Naira you said Arik asked you to pay. Sorry for you o!!!!!!!!!!!

  73. Why should someone prefer to bribe a staff rather than pay the airline. I doubt if that bag was actually tagged by the staff who collected 1,500 naira. Arik is not liable in this matter. Case closed.

  74. Story that touches the heart! Stop playing the victim please. You always offer bribe instead of doing things rightly.See what it has caused. Better get a job or find a means of paying your creditors. Your type run down people's businesses. If I were Arik,I would not have even listened to you all.

  76. Go to court Hun! Sue them for 25 million damages and the court might be nice to make sure u get like 6 million out from them. It's simple, u definitely will not lose the case. They might even go for settling out of court and do not go below a 6 million deal
