Akpabio Impersonators Almost Dupe Blog Visitor....Please Shine Your Eyes

Today at about 8.59am on the 5th of February, I got a strange call from an unknown number saying please call me back I have an urgent information for you. I was at first reluctant, but then I remembered that I have applied for numerous vacancies and they could be the one's calling me, so I called the number back.

The voice behind the phone was like, "Good day my dear, it has been long. Out of sight does not mean out of mind o", so in order not to offend anyone I was quite civil in my response to him, and he was like "We have met before and you dropped your contact details saying that if anything comes up, he should call me." So I believed that maybe it was one of those people I met during my job hunting walks.

At first, I really believed all he had to say, he said his name was Engr, Nwachukwu Bernard (08184743928), (Trust a young Nigerian girl to use google sharp sharp, and a person like that truly existed). He then said, Are you currently n Asokoro?, (That means it was no coincidence, the person has been privileged to view my CV, for him to know such sensitive information about me, so we need to be careful of the sites we drop our resumes on my fellow job seekers).

He said I should please help him carry out a supplying job, that please he is currently in Jos, and the person needed these Engineering materials named BALL RANGERS WHWNR-AMP (he said they are simply ball presser's). He further said all I am to do is, go and meet them in Sheraton and they will follow me to my bank pay in the money needed for the products, and I will go to gwagalada to purchase these goods from Dantata and Sawoe company. That the original price of the product is N210,000 but I will tell the customers N280,000 for the product.

I am to go to Dantata and Sawoe, and when I get there I should ask for the materials, he then gave me a man I could call for information. That the store managers name is Pastor James Oga(08161888747), and I should call him tell him I need 40 cartoons of the materials and he should package them for me.

God, I am even tired of writing. Then of cause the number went through and of course, the pastor (whom they said attends Redeemed) had those materials, he had 684 cartoons of the materials sef. Then I was to call the customer in Sheraton, her name was Hon. Dr. Grace Akpabio, the wife of gov of Akwa ibom state. Kai, my body start to sweet me.

I went on my knees to thank God, I said he has answered my prayers, that's this line of business is good o. I had even pictured my tithe to the house of God. It was when I called the Akpabio woman I started to suspect foul play. She said she was pregnant (Ha!! a woman that is in her 40's?), she does not know if I am for real, blah blah. Then na here yawah gass.

She now said she wanted to see at least 3 samples, so that the white workers will scan my product so that they will know I am a good and legal Abuja supplier of the products. She then rained praises on me. *sigh* I now called the Nwachukwu guy that she needs a sample, He then said that well I could go to Dantata & Sawoe, and deposit money so I can get the samples to show her.

As an Edo babe, I said Oga shake me, shake me, Money no go drop. All my disposable income is tied down, I hav einvested all my money, so I don't have 210,000 naira to use and buy one cartoon of the product, talk less of 2 cartoons. He now said even if I have 10,000 naira, that please I should use it. That money is not the matter for him, butt where he is, he cannot access money and any banking institution.

Let me not lie, I wanted to go and deposit the money, I now said wait o, let me call somebody and tell them. I now called my Pastor in the Lord, I told him all that was going on, he then raised an alarm that I should not try it, that those people are fraudulent and they recently duped a man in Benin of 100,000 naira. That they will start small small, then they will start calling big numbers for me. That they have been duping people in Benin.

Kai Stella, I felt foolish. Sorry this mail is so long but I felt that I needed to share this story, so that other people out there, working hard for their money will not have to part ways with it, to greedy and evil people. I thank God that I was not a victim, that will now have to start crying to numerous ills done by this people.

    4. I was relaxing @ home on the 6th of November, when this number(08164808408) called me, we exchanged pleasantries, and he said he is an old classmate, called my classmate's name(Mike Eze) and I felt at home. Knowing that the classmate he is parading himself as just completed his NYSC I asked him if he is now working, he said he just got a job with NNPC Kaduna(Wow, so fast, happy for him), he said his company(NNPC) is recruiting and he just remembered me and would love to help me by introducing me to the man who helped him. He gave me a number(07037584741) I called the number, a man picked it and introduced himself as Barrister James Onoja, said I will need to get the NNPC E.P form(whatever that means) for 12,500naira, he asked me to pay into this account ASAP(Chimezie Daniel Umah, Acc No 3055912205, First Bank Plc) and send my details(Cv, Passport, etc) to him. Then I should bring the teller to NNPC H/Qtrs Maitama on the day I will be invited for interview.
Kwaaaakssssss, Hahaaaahaaaahahahaha, what a laugh. These fools want to guy nwa Aba like me, dey don knack hand for tipper wey carry sand mixed with konkiri. Am not as gullible as I look.

Advice to the jobless youths out there: the unemployment situation in the country is frustrating, but don't let it clog your sense of reasoning, and make you fall prey to touts like this dude who parades himself as "Barrister James Onoja" Be warned!

I remember one called as a frd dat we served together immediately he mentioned my english name i cut the call, close frds dont call me by my english name cos they know i dont like it......Amy

Trust d sharpiro wey I bi, I always tell him no worries whenever he calls and dat I'm ever ready to assist him but he should first credit my account so I can start d processes fast. That was my own way of chasing him, cos once I request for processing fee from him, he ends d call.
He will still call u, they are so many particularly in Abuja. They believe one day they will succeed. Dis very ENGR MICHAEL NWACHUKWU has been calling my line for d past 2 years on dis same defrauding thing hoping he will get me to do his fake contract and supplies. I aint hungry dude, try somewhere else.
He even called me last month, like 2nd week in January on dis same issue as ENGR BEN. But no way, he's wasting his bloody time.

I just told him point blank that I wasn't interested, he now said okay pls just send me credit that he needs credit to make call lol I just said okay and dropped the call. I just laughed I said this man sha is so determined to collect something from my hand. How he knew my name and spelt my surname accurately baffled me.

I deceived the man that was to give me the sample that I was at te bustop we were supposed to meet.He got there and asked me what I was putting on bla bla bla at the end of the day sha I wasted their time and that of time and am sure they will even fight cos I quickly called the first engineer that I had given the man 20k for the sample afta raining plenty curses on te man that was waiting to collect the money from me at te bustop.... One needs to be very smart these days cos ll des hungry guys are everywhere....

  80. Hmm this story is similiar to mine. The guy called me greeted me like a familiar person he even knew where i worked because he asked how my bosse was and if he was in town. He told me same story call this person ask for so so and so amount of cartons then go and meet the client in Sheraton. Me dey fear to go hotels alone sef. But even from the on go i knew the guy was dupiuos but i decided to play along so the guy go feel say he don hammer. Anyways later in the day after the several minutes of calling each other, he then asked me to call some other guy to ask if the supply was ready for pick up that was when i told him i didnt have airtime on my phone again to call, if he could please send some to me so i could make the call. And he was " i am giving u an opportunity of a lifetime (called my name) and you are saying you cannot buy common recharge card to make calls that will bring in hundreds of naira. I was like all the calls i have made so far was it you who bought me the credit? he said ask your freinds to send you recharge card now and you will pay them later. That was when i lost it and told him: Oga Pate or whatever you call yourself as i am like this you cannot get anything from me, i knew along you were a 419 but i was enjoying the whole conversation with you because it was making me laugh with my colleagues in the office now i have got work to do and so cant continue talking to you anymore. You need to repent and give your life to Jesus. The guy vex hang up hahahahahah! after like 2 months he called again with a different name but with same number after he introduced himself i just said " Oga Pate i know its you because i saved you number leave me now na byforce"? hahahaha the run 440

Happened to me too. A guy called me by my name;how far na, long time dat he's chris he dropped me off from my estate some time ago,if i can't rememba him? Of course i cldnt but as in my estate u always get pple giving u lift out to town i felt he could be one i didn't rememba. Asked if i've gotten a job now?guess he knew i was wit a bank. Dat he's in ogun state,he's handling a supply contract for Bankole Dimeji for electrical cables,to wire his hometown.dat he's very busy, can't travel down and since am in abuja i shld help him handle dis end, d cables are 200k per carton and they'll need like 500,that Oga Bankole would pay wen we get the cost that the cables are in a warehouse in Utako...i shld call one Elder James who is a dealer in the cables, d guy then sent a txt wit d supposed Elder's number. Trust me i was already calculating my profit from d deal; only for me to tell my colleague and he laughed and said i shldnt mind d guy dat they're fraudsters. i then replied d guy's txt that i don't have credit to call Elder James that he shld send me mtn 400 to make d call......4 where!!! D guy no reply sms or call me back again. Stupid pple looking for who to defraud, they are still doing dis their format......long hisssssss!!!! Please ya'll be careful not to fall victim.

  104. Stella, this is a scenerio I have been all too familiar with. Same name-Engr Nwachukwu...and others. Aldou diff numbers. True caller returned his name saved in someother person's fone as 'Engr Fraud' or something like that. I had gotten a friend that works wit MTN to look @ d owner of one of d mtn numbers and it was partially registered. No pics and address read 'besides burial ground, nassarawa' abi na keffi, can't remember...so u wonder why those numbers are workin in the first place and what NCC is doing to check this. For the avoidance of doubt, below is my message on my fbk wall in September 2013.

Recently I've been getting some annoying calls which have intensified in the past two weeks. They claim to be calling from Taraba, Abuja, Jos etc. D calls have somethings in common:
    1. They all claim to have met me before (and wonder why I don't have dia numbers)
    2. They are supposed to 'supply' some equipments but wont be available to do it and have decided in their magnanimity to give it to me to handle (you wonder why they forgot their sisters)
    3. The recipients of the supply (mostly 'white people') are eagerly waiting for the items and have their cash at hand
    4. They request me to call back so that they can bring out the contract file and give me more details.
    5. After waiting for me to call back to no avail, they call back.
    6. I can swear they are all Igbo people...two have 'thick' Imo accent.
I ordinarily wouldn't bother myself except that this calls have become very annoying more so since dey seem to know a bit about me, one knows ALL my name making it very clear that this is the handiwork of FRENEMIES (some of whom may be here on Facebook).
I wonder where all this 'magnanimous' people where when I was jobless!
For the avoidance of doubt, I am not a CONTRACTOR/SUPPLIER, just a govt worker managing her small salary.
These are their phone numbers by the way: 08175193718, 08174721248, 08176053885, 08187843503, 08038160392. They go by many aliases: Mike, Engr Nwachukwu, Gabriel Umeh etc...
Ndi oshi! Na acho na akpa onye na acho!
