Yakubu Gowon's 47 Year Old Son Musa Jack Granted State Pardon By Obama

The story you are about to read might bring tears to your eyes if you have a heart,if you don't,reading it will invoke some kind of emotion in you.

Now read….

Edith Ike Okongwu (of blessed memory) had a steamy affair with ex head of state General Yakubu Gowon and their affair resulted in the conception and birth of Musa…

Edith lived with Gowon during the war till his people allegedly kicked her out for flimsy reasons and took young Musa away from her.
She relocated to America but Many years later, she 'kidnapped' him on a visit to Nigeria and took him back to America.

That move was probably wrong because young Musa became rebellious and didn't approve of his mothers single and flamboyant lifestyle.

To make matters worse,His dad Yakubu Gowon had allegedly cut him off for as long as he was with his mum.
Musa eventually became One of the highest ranking member/ business partner of a Colombian drug cartel. He lived a rich and flamboyant lifestyle until he was caught.

During his trial, he was offered a deal to rat on the people he worked with but he refused and there was outrage, his people were angry with him for not betraying the people he worked with but young Musa argued that if he talked they would fish him out even in jail and snuff him out.

he kept sealed lips and in 1993 in his early twenties,he was sentenced to jail..with hard labour.
The funny thing is that Musa got into trouble, trying to get acceptance from his people and win his father's love And when he was making money and spending it,he got the acceptance…albeit briefly….but was abandoned for slinging his family name in the mud.

Musa is now 47 years old and yesterday he was released on state pardon granted him by President Obama after spending 22years in jail.

whilst he was in jail, his mum passed on....

He is currently with Immigration and in the process of being deported back to the land he was born....Nigeria.

    4. Anon, Americanah is after all a fiction but the ideas that molded the narrative in the novel must have come from something real! I'm not Chimamanda but Musa was on my mind when I was reading about Dike even though Gowon ain't dead.

Waste of years? He's 47, and life begins at 40.its never too late to start anew, afresh,on a clean slate.
God is a God of second chance, how he trudges on from this moment is all that matters.there are a lot of men who are 47 years of age, never been to jail, but still have nothing to their name.my only hope is that life in prison has remoulded him,and he has dropped his old ways.

So Stella sorry I didn't collapse in agony about this story. So what part was I suppose to cry?

Do you also know what a cartel does? They kill people. He made his choices. Lucky he's still alive.

Yesterday somebody's supermarket burnt to ashes. Are you aware? Now that bought tears to my eyes. Honest staff will now be without work for some time. Now that is cry worthy.

    1. If he had ratted them out, he would have had a shorter jail term and most likely be dead by now.
I think his father would accept him. I really don't know why he was disowned in the first place, not like he had a choice in a kidnap.
All the very best to him. 22 years is a lot! May God restore the lost years.

  47. Stella whats moving about this, is he the only one got issues with their dad. His even lucky he had opportunity to go to the USA. He could have gotten a good education and worked legit instead of going into criminal activity.
I lost my dad at the age of 4, no family support from anyone. My dads people no even ask after us. Not like my mum needed them, she even wanted to be far from the wicked people.
She worked hard, sent me to the best schools she cld afford single handedly, and I made sure I excelled becos I had no one but my mum and God. No be say I be perfect person o,but I try my best. I don't say because I grew up not knowing my father I now start misbehaving. I never expect nothing from ppl, family ppl get dere problems, must they help me. I only seek for assistance when lookn for job. In which an aunty helped and I started working in a bank.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Why shld we feel sad for him, he did the crime and paid the price.
Stella do you know how many ppl drugs have ruined their lives? Do you see women on crack in America that will rather buy crack than take money to buy food for their kids. Do you know how many children are mentally retarded or with behavioural problems becos dere mum's where getting high on crack during pregnancy.
Good luck Musa, welcome back to Nigeria.

  49. And one desperate woman will come out and marry him and tell her friends, im marrying ex presidents son, he just came back from America. He was a big business man from abroad. As soon as some ladies hear a man just cum back, they will do everythn to hook him.

  50. Cry? Be emotional? For what? Did you cry for the numerous people who died because of their drug related activities? People who instantly became orphans or widows due to the cartels acts? Or do you think a drug cartel is the same thing as selling Ata rodo?

  60. Stella l don't know what should move me in this story. Rather l am shocked. For many years all l read in the papers was Gowon denying that the boy was not his son and his late mum stating that thboy was his son. I always wondered why both were exchanging words instead of going for a paternity test. Despite Gowon leading a group called 'Nigeria prays', he never visited the boys mother that was dying of cancer in the hospital until she had a few hours to live. I pray the man gives his life to Christ and his mothers family re-integrate him. It is well with him. I Bellevue he can still be great in life. With God nothing is impossible.

  61. Why would I cry for someone who get caught doing an illegal business, drug dealers are the most wicked people and they keep tarnishing the image of this country together with the Yahoo boys.
