He made the statement during an interview with the BBC Hausa service, where he discussed Nigeria’s democracy, security, poverty, and his role during the military era under late General Sani Abacha.
“God willing, I only tested it, but this time I’m serious about running,” he said.
He alleged that in the past, election results have been written rather than truly counted.
“That is why we have discussed with foreign countries, asking them to closely monitor Nigeria, especially regarding the elections, because election results are usually written,” he said.
Al-Mustapha also ruled out joining any political alliance, especially those he said contradict his beliefs.
“If their ideology is different from ours, then I don’t want to be part of something shameful that would bring dishonor to the country with my involvement,” he said.
When asked if he would support another candidate like Atiku Abubakar, he replied, “There is no possibility of our paths crossing politically, so there’s no need for that question.”
Al-Mustapha previously contested in the 2019 and 2023 elections but did not succeed.

ReplyDeleteAl Mustapha, the terror of Abacha's government that was responsible for the death of Kudirat Abiola, Saro Wiwa and countless innocent people.
Al Mustapha that even allegedly attempted to overthrow OBJ's government in 2004 while in prison.
This same man wants to run for president?
In other nations, people like this would never come out to speak on national matters.
Nigeria amazes me!
Judging from those in power, he seems a perfect fit.

DeleteNaija is a joke.
ReplyDeleteHe don first run before na. He's among the Abacha boys who unalived Kudirat Abiola. They equally could have killed Alex Ibru too but how he survived even though his face shifted from those gunshots was a miracle. The confession of these claims is there on YouTube. The government pardoned them. And I think one later became a pastor. It is well
