On August 19, 2025, Nigerian rapper Lil Kesh (Keshinro Ololade) was attacked at his home in Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos. The suspects slashed his neck with a sharp object and forced him to transfer 2.12 million naira from his bank account via his phone to the suspect’s account. Lil Kesh survived the ordeal and later shared on social media that he was recovering, thanking fans for their support.
On September 11, 2025, Kano State Police arrested two suspects in Na’ibawa, Kano, following intelligence and community tips.
The suspects, Mathew Adewole, 25, from Na’ibawa, and Mukhtar Muhammad, 31, from Unguwa Uku, were apprehended. Adewole confessed to attacking and robbing Lil Kesh. The police recovered the stolen 2.12 million naira. Both suspects were transferred to Lagos State Police for further investigation and prosecution.
Kano State Police Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori commended the officers and public for their cooperation in the arrests, emphasizing the importance of community support in fighting crime.
