I understand where you are coming from, but I think this situation requires balance. As humans, we are often quick to judge, especially when someone’s actions seem to contradict the position they hold. Yes, expectations are higher for spiritual leaders, and disappointment is valid.
DeleteHowever, the fact remains that he has apologized. Whether that apology came from public pressure or genuine repentance, only God truly knows the heart. God is not a man, and His mercy is far greater than ours. Even in the Scriptures, forgiveness is available to anyone who genuinely repents.
Also, it’s important to separate moral failure from criminality. As far as we know, this was not a crime but a matter involving two consenting adults, though one party felt betrayed. That does not make it right, but it does put things in proper perspective.
Above all, God is good and merciful. We can hold leaders accountable, be cautious going forward, and still allow room for grace because none of us is without fault.

It took Ms Ogala's bold exposure for selfish reasons for him to 'realize' he has been destroying destinies while standing on the pulpit. Mind you, he tried bribing his way out but this was made public hence the only other option. A typical unrepentant psychopath who is afraid of the public consequences of his atrocities for years. They never change or truly repent until public disgrace. He knows there is so much more and afraid. And the confession and plea for forgiveness is only a temporary guise as he would change his strategy and become more extremely careful. A truly remorseful person would have amended his way long before entangling himself with another marriage, leave the pulpit and go seek true redemption from His Creator. No one is a saint and every human sin differently and it takes the divine mercy of God for each one of us to stand strong. But when you opt and choose a leadership role such as that of the shepherd of a flock, then you must purpose and kill your deep weakness completely before you lead others indeed. The church and particularly Nigerian church is filled with so many of these kind hidden in plain sight and destroying rather than building destines even in the mega churches we dont want to name. I wish him well if he genuinely repents but he must bear all the consequences of all his actions, so also Doris.
