Speaking in a recent interview, she said
“We hear stories of some actresses who do things with politicians for money. So when people ask me why I am not rich like the others, I tell them to go ask them what other jobs they do Cus we know how much Africa Magic and other platforms pay for a movie,”
She noted that the public often misunderstands the true sources of wealth in the entertainment industry, adding that many of the flashy lifestyles seen online cannot be justified by acting fees alone.

She's right
ReplyDeleteNot all, some have established genuine businesses, some married into wealth, some are from rich backgrounds, so not all go tro s#x to make those money, infact some are traders, doing genuine import and export. If she is not exposed to other crafts and solely a one income earner, she should not paint others black, yes there are some bad eggs but not all please
DeleteAnon 13:18 stop defending them and speak the truth. All of these so called actresses and influncers sleep around to fund their lifestyle. Every one of them.
DeleteSome of your colleagues will soon come for you.
ReplyDeleteYou dey mind her,Anty talk for yaself oo
DeleteLa colleagues la troll la soon🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hypocrites are you the ones doing things with politicians?
DeleteBeautiful Bimbo
ReplyDeleteBB 🥰
Where is the lie?
ReplyDeleteWhy do I find this her reply as envy?
ReplyDelete"Go and ask what other jobs they do".
Sounds like someone who doesn't have the opportunity to do what the others to get to there.
Not all 'rich' actresses are into politicians doings.
Some have businesses they do, investments et al.
Do not be in a haste to condemn or badmouth others because you feel you are the righteous one that is why you have not attained a certain level in life where others are.
You are one of the so called actresses, right? If not your mumu must be studied
DeleteScallywag @ anon 17:46.
DeleteWhy are you so pained, jealous much?
Attributing every successful female to prostitution.
Shame on you.
I pour you spit, tueh.
We don know teytey...
ReplyDeleteMake Dem dey fool the mumu ones
Please be informed that some people are from wealthy homes, e g, kemi adetiba ,jade osiberu, uche jombo, Rita Dominic etc, some married wealth, Zainab balogun, etc some already made money from businesses as entrepreneurs before venturing into the industry zubby Michael etc. please get informed before typing some things. Nollywood is not a poverty elevation industry, not everyone came in broke.
DeleteA whole lot of people know ds already, even their male counterparts have said it that d money d film industry pays cannot afford d kinda lifestyle that their female counterparts live. One of them in an interview a while back asked whether it’s d same acting money they’re paid , that d ladies are spending & he’s an A-list actor. So Bimbo knows what she’s saying.
ReplyDeleteBut don’t they also get lucrative endorsements, social media, especially YouTube, and not to mention if the movie streams through Netflix or Prime and they are the producer. I do not believe that every wealthy actress has dealings with politicians, some are just savvy businesswomen who saw opportunities and took advantage of them.
ReplyDeleteNope. Even Funke Akindle got only 10 millions from a billion dollar movie yet you expect others to have earned more? Plus those endorsement you talk about pay in peanuts. They also don't gain enough traction from youtube to live the kind of lifestyle they live. Don't be fooled. They are prostitut€s. Social media is their bidding place.
DeleteBimbo sound pained. You don't have to paint others black to be seen as a saint though. I'm sure some of your colleagues diversified their income even if there are some that used their bodies for it.
ReplyDeleteYou probably didn't choose either and that fine too but to Barmouth your colleagues at your big age...
We know it is not acting fees alone. There's grace too. There's favour, open doors, opportunities, and endorsements. It must not always be sleeping your way up. Get your mind renewed. Anyone that has this philosophy otherwise you can never be rich.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't sound pained. We do not like people that speaks the truth. Why are their male counterpart not as rich as them?
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm
ReplyDeleteOkay
ReplyDeleteYou are right though
ReplyDeleteIf you can date Dede, just calm down. It's not just the ones who are selling nightly services that are making it but enterprising talents are also cashing out legally and openly. Omoni and Ruth who focused on production have their numbers there for everyone to see and they have no regrets. Admit the legit opportunities you slept on and don't hide behind morality
ReplyDeleteA woman who has chosen to be too big to produce, secure endorsements, run strong social media presence, do business or go back to school for a 9-5 cannot pretend to be surprised that she is not making as much as her colleagues.
As limited as the Yoruba industry is, Femi Adebayo was earning 5m per movie about 5 years ago, stated on a Your view interview, averaging about 20m per month. Is that not enough to flex? On top, he has the YouTube series and a training school where he could discover and use talents in exchange for exposure. This is asides money from producing. His father explained how he made about 17 million by distributing directly instead of selling to a marketer about 10 years ago. His mother owns Ejide films which did well considering she's a married woman with a man about town then.
Many actors with 1st degrees let pride hinder them in the 90s and early 2000s, thinking they were above the primary and secondary school graduates paying them good money to act. Today they've outgrown those roles without garnering the popularity or business acumen and opportunities those hustlers made.
The Ogogos and Quadris of the world own multiple houses and have entrenched themselves in business, politics and training but those receiving salary for acting are still there.
Wunmi Toriola has bought her house and is making good money and her YouTube channel can back the numbers. Biola Adebayo is on her lane as an interviewer and she used the channel to directly produce and market but all you want is to be paid for your many years as if the market places such a premium on the role of a big aunty or grandpa.
Thank you anon, you really analysed everything well.
DeleteShe is a one income actress.
Other filmmakers have other sources of income like endorsement, they produce their own movies, they have investment like running restaurants, clothing lines, self service apartments, film production company, decor homes, have YouTube channels they run e.t.c.
We know there are some that do shady deals, but we shouldn't assume all of them do dirty deals or prostitute themselves.
Madam Bimbo, pls you need to invest in other things, other than acting alone. Try to have multiple streams of income, then you will also be rich like them.
Try to network like other of your colleagues. Staying on your own won't benefit you in the long run.
Ogogo carrued cocaine in his youth,it busted in his tummy then . Not a great sample.
DeleteMadam forget about them, go and upgrade
ReplyDeleteMadam Bimobo, please diversify!
ReplyDeleteOne source of income doesn't make one rich.
Your other colleagues have other streams of income (eg YouTube channels, film production companies, self service apartment, restaurants, clothing lines, film villages, endorsementse.t.c).
Not disputing the fact that some of them are can be into shady deals though, but we don't have evidence to back that up.
Being just an actor in Nigeria doesn't make one rich like that, you need to be wise about it. Invest in other things that are profitable
You saying the truth.
ReplyDeleteNot a very narrative from a "supposedly intelligent person". Go find your own politician abi them tie your legs? 😉
