INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD

This week has been tedious. We had dental appointments and so many procedures to do. Dental appointments for me can be emotionally draining because imagine a toddler having an extraction, pulpectomy, and pulpectomy done in one sitting.
I had gone through this with the older siblings but it still didn't ’t make it a comfortable trip, the sheer look of fear in her face when she was surrounded by the team of dentist in facial mask with caps and glasses on broke my heart.

There are usually a lot of dentists involved with my kids' procedures and several opinions from different consultants because of the nature of their enamel hypoplasia, and I understand this, but it can be scary for the kids.
The dentists go out their way to calm my kids down and be gentle, but this was my princess’s first intensive, multiple procedures at the same time.

She had me holding down her legs and arms in a bear hug while someone else was holding down her head, and someone else was on standby to catch her hands whenever she tried to escape my hold.
There was someone else holding the suctioning device, the main dentist doing the procedures, two other dentists on standby discussing and suggesting methods and all, while two nurses handed over instruments and prepared zinc oxide and other things to be used.
So it was a lot for her. By the time we were done, she was so exhausted and barely moving. Then we moved on to her brother, it normally takes me a week to recover from the stress of these visits but I am happy we have finally gotten answers and are taken the right steps to help with their health.

TAKE YOUR FLOWERS MAMA!!!!

TEACHER LIFE

Homework in early years education is always a delicate topic.
For some parents, it’s a bonding activity.
For others, it’s a burden.
And for a few… it becomes a competition.
Over the years, I’ve seen many different types of “homework parents.”

First, there is the “I will do it for my child” parent.
I once had a parent like this.
Anytime I gave homework, it was obvious she had written everything herself. The handwriting changed completely from what the child wrote in class. And on the rare occasions the child actually wrote something, the answers were far above his level.
You could tell immediately.
It looked like something copied straight from Google.
I would call her gently and say,
“Ma’am, this learning is becoming one way oh.”
Because the truth is simple: if a parent does the homework, the teacher cannot see what the child actually understands.
And if we can’t see the gaps, we can’t help the child grow.

Then there are the “guide me so I can guide my child” parents.
These ones ask questions.
“What are you teaching them in class?”
“How should he write it?”
“Is this the correct way to help her?”
These parents don’t try to impress the teacher. They simply try to support the process.
Teachers love these ones.

Then there are the “Back to Sender” parents.
The book goes home.
The book returns exactly the same way.
No attempt. No explanation. No nothing.
Just straight back to the teacher like a returned parcel.

And finally, there are the “battle-scarred homework books.”
Pages torn out.
Food stains everywhere.
Crumpled sheets that look like they survived a small war.
You open the book and quietly sigh.
Not because you’re angry, but because you know that somewhere between school and home, that little learning opportunity got lost.
The truth is, homework in early years is not about perfection.
It’s not about neatness.
It’s not about showing the teacher how brilliant your child is.
It’s about practice.
It’s about letting a child try, struggle a little, and slowly improve.
So when that crooked letter, wrong answer, or shaky line appears in a homework book, teachers are not disappointed.
In fact, we are grateful.
Because that messy attempt tells us something important:
The child is learning.
And that is exactly the point of homework.

When my Bambinos had homework, i couldn't not really understand the Language talk less of helping with homework....So their dad used to do the homework, especially the maths part....
I will never forget the day i tried to show small Bambino care by showing interest in his homework, he just said ''mama please you dont know the language and you dont know maths, dont teach me''.......Ijust moonwalked and minded my business...lol

NOTORIOUS FOR JESUS

Apologies, but working in a hotel is synonymous to working as a prostitxte.
The disrespect from customers, the harassment, the con#doms, the stench from rooms, the odors of unclean activities that render the air. If I see hotel job adverts, I dey run like crazy.

So It was during my 200l second semester break and I wanted to make some money so I could at least buy some basics for myself at resumption. I wrote an application letter and took it there. I met the manager and he asked me a few questions and told me that, even though I applied as a receptionist, they only have a position for a kitchen assistant.

I happily took it and resumed the following Monday. From that day till I left the job, it was a huge mess with traumatic experiences. Is it the boss, Constantly coming to my office to ask for sxx in return for the job opportunity?

Is it the day he brought his friends and they were high as the kite started to talk trash to me that I wasn't beautiful yet stubborn? Is it when they claimed that items were missing in the freezer, whereas his personal assistant has a spare key to the kitchen and would go there and steal?

Is it when we had the hotel booked for pensioners and old men twice the age of my father were begging to lay with me for 1k? or the night Yahoo boys visited and nearly groped my breast, and smacked my bum? Or the night we suddenly had a 1am visitor who I thought was a robber and I kept a knife under my pillow as a defense, couched up in the hall that doubled as my office and bed all through the night incase of eventuality?
Or the night the club boys had a massive fight and police paraded the area shooting in the air? hmmm..

One incident that hit differently was the day my boss, who by the way, an interpreter in a popular church, called me and started to tongue lash on the need to always unbutton my shirt slightly to reveal some boobs since this is hotel business and I am expected to be sxxy as a kitchen assurant and waitress. He was literally reaching for my blouse. Hmmmm..

After a month, The accountant was delaying my salary, and I wrote a letter demanding my pay. I knew they wanted to stylishly tie me down, they handed me half salary and said the deduction was for the missing items in the kitchen.
I heaved a sigh, thanked him profusely and ran as fast as my legs could carry.
Last week, I visited home and the hotel stood far, abandoned, drenched in a magnanimous amount of green plants and algae to an irritating disgust.

Chai, when i started reading i wanted so badly to disagree with you but when i got to the end.....I agreed that working in hotel na asawo work cos if not that you said NO; you for gbansh everybody there but as you say you no gbensh make we leave am believe you....Even doctors dem dey gbensh nurses for hospital...LOL

MARRIAGE IS BEAUTIFUL .....

Marriage is NOT warfare.
Marriage is NOT a battlefield.
Marriage is NOT suffering.
Marriage is NOT endurance.
Marriage is NOT hell.
Marriage should NOT leave you depressed or suicidal
Marriage is NOT violence or abuse.

Marriage is fun, rosy, beautiful. It is play, growth, understanding, love, sacrifice, healthy compromise, and positively influencing each other enough that others will want to get married too.

If you genuinely desire marriage, sometimes avoid religious spaces that make marriage look like a battlefield, especially those that constantly present women as less. Find an honest spiritual leader who understands accountability and learn from them.

Again, marriage is beautiful. All these things you see men and women suffering in and calling marriage is not marriage. They are practicing bondage and calling it marriage.
I pray you meet a kind partner and do marriage with them.
And may your home be beautiful.
Copied

You will only understand this after you marry the wrong or right person......Marriage should compliment you and being out the best in you..In fact, if you are in a bad relationship, please dont marry the person oh...

When you mentioned the invincible the other day, my mind went to the Incredibles (you know how someone mentions something and it looks/sounds like something else) Was excited for my son till I noticed it's "invin..." that i've never watched. Checked Google and saw that it has to do with superhero, will try and check it out.

  10. I stopped being predictable, manipulated and most importantly, quit seeking human validations.

When they say you can't do it or feel they've known you better than you know yourself, just smile to yourself and prove nothing to anyone.

You owe no one how you choose to live life.

@NFJ, you reminded me when I was desperately searching for hotel job at VI and Lekki some years back, thank God I didn't get any.

@Teacher post, we also have teachers that will give three different homework of 1-20 questions to a grade 2 pupil on a Monday and you expect them not to do back to sender? Most schools especially private primary school close by 3pm, please what time do they have to complete the three assignment putting other activities into consideration, it is well.
