CEO Of Lies Blessing Okoro And Her Fame Built On Falsehood

This post written by Journalist  Kunle Rasheed critically analyses the CEO of lies Blessing Okoro and how she almost shut down Nigeria's internet space with stage 419 cancer lies...

''Blessing CEO: A Fame Built on Falsehood...

Before that day, I had vowed never to waste my valuable time or data listening to these new generation bloggers who flood the internet with their faces and voices. Many of them behave as though they are the best thing to happen to the world simply because they enjoy some level of online popularity.

They speak about people and to people carelessly and even assume the role of judges, deciding who is right or wrong whenever issues arose.

Blessing CEO belongs to this same circle, and I never bothered listening to her or engaging with anything connected to her or her type.
That, however, changed when I stumbled upon a video of her crying while someone shaved her head. Perhaps my humane side urged me to pause and find out what was wrong with this overnight celebrity.

Yet I didn’t need more than a few seconds before switching off, realizing that the little I had heard was just another piece of nonsense manufactured by none other than the CEO of lies.
You can’t blame me or have this erroneous belief that I’m heartless, but the little I heard and saw made me race into conclusion that this local champion is at it again.
Blessing CEO had claimed she was battling stage-four cancer. Instantly, I told those around me that she was telling another tall tales bound for no other than “scam city.”

I believe strongly that she is not well schooled on the ailment she chose, because if she had done a little research, she would have known for certain that cancer patients do not shave their heads; rather, treatments such as chemotherapy cause their hair to fall off. That was the first hole I spotted in her story.

Soon, news outlets were filled with reports that she needed financial assistance to recover which she had pasted below her artificial wailing page.
Nigerians, knowing how compassionate we can be as people , began contributing money in the hope of helping a genuinely sick person, not realizing they were simply fueling a fraud perpetrated by someone who is only sick in her soul.

It is tragic that this is what we face in Nigeria today, aided by social media, which has turned charlatans into overnight stars that people jostle to associate with. The worst part is that, those who run educative and informative pages on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms are never given support, they are denied the spotlight they deserve. Instead, frivolous characters like Blessing CEO are given the heroes’ treatment with endorsements chasing them, while genuine people beg for patronage.

It has become a norm now that Nigeria and Nigerians keep rewarding noise over substance.
Now, that the truth is gradually coming out through the concerted effort of a few concerned individuals, some are questioning Blessing for allegedly scamming people out of their hard-earned money through the calculated noise she made about her health.

But I ask: how did Blessing CEO become popular on social media in the first place? Was it not through flaunting a property her generation couldn’t afford at the time? Why are people suddenly frowning because she took the very route she has always been known for?

The audacity of this lady is something I still cannot fathom. It is becoming increasingly obvious that she played the nation with her cancer story, showing no remorse for the emotional roller coaster she took Nigerians on.

To even put salt on an injury, I heard she threatened to sue someone for labeling her a scammer and I laughed. Is truth not part of the defense for defamation?
I would not have bothered writing about her, but I was livid with rage this afternoon when I saw a video of her on my darling sister Moji Danisa’s wall, mocking those who contributed money to help her.
Why do we allow such shenanigans to thrive in our society? Why can’t the concerned invite the EFCC to step in to ensure that all the money she allegedly collected illegally is either refunded to the contributors or retained by the state for a public project?
If this nonentity goes scot-free, then I will give up on our society and law enforcement authorities for allowing such rot to fester.
Still waiting to see what happens next.

  1. The Nigerian Medical Association, Delta State Branch, has disowned a histology report circulating online and attributed to relationship coach Blessing Okoro, known as Blessing CEO.

It said the document was altered from an original result issued to a different patient diagnosed with breast cancer.

The association made this known in a statement signed by its chairman, Israel Adaigho, and secretary, Usamah Hannah, a copy of which was sighted by PUNCH Online on Tuesday.

The NMA said the report in circulation was originally issued on May 9, 2025 by Xinus Medical Diagnostics in Asaba, Delta State, to a patient identified as Mbara Deborah, not Okoro, following a referral from a private hospital in Asaba for a confirmatory breast cancer test.

    1. From the beginning, I was bold to say Blessing CEO did not have cancer in any form. This was even before she brought a forged document. Forgery carries a 14 year sentence I believe so that's another one in the bag. The police have no excuse not to have her arrested.

If today goes down and this woman is still walking free then every hope I have in this country is gone.

  2. I wasn't part of the people on emotional roller coaster anything for this lie-personified of a person. Honestly, EFCC need to invite the scammer of a lady to recover everything that was contributed to her.
Nice write up Mr Kunle Rasheed.
