NOTORIOUS FOR JESUS

My daughter is a very kind child and I'm not really surprised. She took after me. She's 8 and she's very empathetic. Every time I'm in the kitchen, she would parade there and greet me one thousand times. 

One time I had a bad stomach ache and she was literally crying. But her behavior no dey too shock me because I was like that too when growing up. I'm still like that but I am guarding my heart with being an adult and because I understand humans.

I was very kind to my mother and I remember one occasion when one day, my mother was bringing a pot of hot soup down from the fire, unfortunately, the house was still uncompleted when we moved in so the kitchen floor still had stones. Obviously the pot was too hot and she decided to drop it quickly but it landed on a stone and it bounced up with the hot content spilling on my mother's face. My siblings and I were watching TV in the living room but I dashed out and started to scream for help as she was also screaming. The hot soup went into her eyes and neck region. She asked for raw egg and I remember running into the dark street barefooted to the long distance where provisions were sold to get the item..

Towards the last days of my mother's last moments, she reminded me of the incident and how she was proud of me and would never forget. She confessed that I was the kindest of her children, using many instances as examples but never failed to mention the hot soup incident as her most favourite.

 She said this to me. "Life has gravity, whatever we throw up, must surely return to us" 

She encouraged me to keep up the good character and she further prayed for me asking that kindness returns to me and that I will give birth to a stronger version of myself, a very kind daughter as I have done towards her, I shall reap. I remember saying a weak amen that day as my eyes were filled with tears because life was already drifting out of her.

Fast forward to the present, my mother's prayer worked. Right before my eyes, I birthed my mini-me as far as showing kindness is concerned and I hope that she remains that way, and that she also balances it with being rational too so that the wicked people in this world do not take advantage of it.

All in all, I'm grateful that my mother's prayer worked and I'm experiencing the love that I gave my own mother from my daughter.

This is so so sweet!!!!

May our children be kind to us and their children and children's children be kind to them.....

LEARN TO LET GO

*See, one of my greatest lesson in my wilderness season is the importance of mourning the loss of the life I had imagined for myself as a younger woman and then an adult. Because it is indeed a kind of death.

But you can’t remain buried in that place, in the ‘What IFs’. Soon enough, you must begin to believe in your own resurrection.

I've come to believe that there is nothing like "detours" in life.

Perhaps what appears to have been a "wrong turn" or "wasted years" was in fact ‘The Path’, providing EXACTLY the lessons, relationships, experiences and skill sets you needed to become the person you're MEANT to be. Your authentic Best Self!

But if you do not let go of what is dead, how do you make space for a new life and new beginnings?

So, today I encourage you to let it go, and allow God use everything to bring you to your place of best and rest.
