Memory Lane With Hints

I worked at the rested Hints magazine back in the days.....It was where i started my Journey in Journalism...I remember how we used to scramble for cover stories coupled with all th stories we had to write by ourselves....LOL
If you cannot fake a story and make it look real, you cannot work there but i did something Interesting...I started writing real life stories of myself, my friends and others....I guess that was where the Chronicle berthed many years ago....

  2. My mum, aunties, sisters and few of my cousins were all ardent readers of hints & hearts magazines way back then when we were all growing up of different ages, I used to read through most and enjoyed some of the stories inside them during the weekends when my cousins were around and we were all told to stay indoors.. we would read and tell each other stories and even have fun arguments or debates too few times about the stories.

Men it’s been so long thinking back to those days now and I’m 70% certain my mom will still have some of those magazines stored or kept somewhere till now.

  4. Stella you worked at Hints? You don be ancestor for this industry o. You've really paid your dues. Respect.

I think Hints tried a digital edition comeback in 2017 but Gen Z have the attention span of mosquitoes so it didn't really take off.

  9. I loved this magazine then. My elder sister introduced hints magazine to me. She introduced the novel Silhouette to me as well. She knows how to write fictions very well.

  10. Hints was one of the best-selling magazines back in the day.

I still remember reading a fascinating story about a young man who was secretly dating both a wealthy older woman (a sugar mummy) and her daughter at the same time, without either of them knowing. From what I can recall, he eventually ended both relationships, either because his conscience caught up with him or because he feared the chaos that would erupt if the truth came out. By then, he had reportedly collected a substantial amount of money from both women. I can't remember whether it was N60K or N600K; it's been so many years.

There was another equally popular magazine that competed with Hints back then, but for the life of me, I can't remember its name, maybe "Hearts" magazine or something like that

  16. I'm sure if I search my father's house very well i'll see at least one edition. I'd make sure I become your friend by force if I sight it with you just so I could borrow. Hints, Hearts, in fact any of those soft sell magazines and novels were my joy givers. I loved to read, still do but responsibilities and looking for money don take over. Memories😀
