Paris To Remove Love Padlocks On Bridge

Paris is set to remove padlocks fastened to the Pont des Arts Bridge by couples as a 'love lock' - An act symbolically carried out by lovers, throwing the key into the River Seine beneath the bridge afterwards, to forever seal their love.

Officials say all locks will all be removed from Monday as they pose a safety risk especially as part of the bridge collapsed under the weight last year.

The padlocks, close to a million in number and weighing 45 tonnes, are expected to be cut off.

Remember that Nigerian OAP, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu just last week padlocked his love for his fiancee, Cynthia Obianodo, at the bridge?.Choi!

    4. Only people who believe deeply in the locked padlock holding their love and keeping their love alive will be the ones to experience relationship /marriage breakage.
Anyway i see it more as a fun thing though. Ebuka's own was widely publicized and now some people will make fun of him, his fiancee and their padlock.

    1. I think cos his was widely publicized. Now they don't want people coming from different countries to add more padlocks and like i read above, the bridge is about tilting to one side which isn't a good thing.
