President Buhari's Delayed Cabinet And The Recent Altercation At #NASS.

The recent commotion/Physical altercation at the National Assembly just brings to my mind the question of Buhari announcing his cabinet...

Isn't he supposed to pass the names through the house for screening?

The house is on break till Next Month or not?cos i

If i am correct that means President Buhari cannot send names to #NASS for screening until they resume and he returns from his US official visit next month.

Did i hear them say they will re-convene if the list is ready?..Mscheeew

Please if I am wrong, someone should enlighten me on this cos i see a long wait...Thanks to #NASS!

    3. Yep. I don't see the need to rush. As long as things are getting done.

Stella. To answer your question, it's in order that we all anticipate the announcement of Buhari's cabinet. But I suspect that the man is being methodical, coupled with the issues the party is having with Saraki and co.

Buhari is not interested in fulfilling the bid of any party, either in whole or individually..or because he got their backing to be president. Rather, the man is scrutinizing individuals that he can work with to better his administration.

Don't forget the anti corruption mantra that made him popular.. so he doesn't want a minister that is having EFCC issues, or is known to be a corrupt person. As that would dilute the efficacy of his motto.

Then we have the issue of interference from his party. Which Saraki and Dagora are already facing. The party, even before Buhari was sworn in, had sent him their list of candidates to be considered for different posts...which Buhari dis countenanced.

Left to Mr President, he would appoint individuals based on their merits, be they Apc, PDP, or even choose the non partisans. He doesn't want to be imposed upon, nor be influenced by those seeking favours. All these are what may be causing delays. And I think we should bear with him if this would mean getting the best brains and hands on deck to achieve a common aim that'll bring respite to the citizenry.

Don't be shocked if you see him appoint normal individuals that do not belong to APC as ministers. I crave to see this happen, as it would confirm that truly, democracy has landed our doorstep.
