    5. Ah Cocoz, tell me about it.

I'll finish typing something like this, after proof reading and hitting send, i'll then see embarrassing words and adjectives all over the place.

Seems my phone has taken a liking to doing that.

These days, I don't even bother to say it's autocorrect.
Unfortunately, I can't get rid of it.
      Makes typing faster. :D

    9. Am instead of I'm is the height... Almost every Nigerian is guilty of that, to the extent I start having a special kind of respect for the few that know when and how to use am and I'm. Smh!

  38. Sometimes English helps in foreign English speaking countries at job interviews. If they don't understand what you are saying because of your bad written and spoken English, the person they understand with good spoken and written English will get the job @Caribbean Princess

Ignorance is a disease, take correction, learn and better yourself. You never know when you might need it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. anon 22:35 what language did you use to make your comment. Was it your native language?, why didn't you comment in your native language. If you are speaking or writing English, speak and write it well- simple. It's got nothing to do with holding everything about the whites in high esteem.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lets not forget the wrong usage of the word 'SEVERALLY'!!
Everyone on this blog uses the word wrongly, including Stella!

    Severally means individually or separately.
    Several means numerous times.

I always see people writing, "I called him/her severally". It irks my souls!!
Please, the correct wording is," I called him/ her several times".

  47. Nigerians have so murdered the English language.

The person saying English is not our native language, how would you feel if people repeatedly speak your native language incorrectly or mispronounce words in your native language. It would annoy you and you would correct them.

For example saying ashawo instead of ashewo, inegbese instead of gbese. Those words actually mean nothing in the language you are speaking.

If you must speak a language, speak it correctly.
